Liesinger

Joseph Albert Liesinger, 89, of Butler died Tuesday at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born April 22, 1918, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Albert H. and Eva Abel Liesinger.

He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, where he was a former member of the church council, participated in the church community meal at age 88 and was active in the church performing other duties.

Mr. Liesinger was an avid stamp collector, enjoyed playing cards, loved to read and learn, loved antique cars and trains, and especially loved being with his family.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Butler and held various offices in the Butler MORA Club.

During World War II, he served with the Army in the Asian-Pacific Theater.

He is survived by three daughters, Jo Ann (David) Sallach of Oxford, N.J., Ruth Ann (W. David) Graham of Granville, Ohio, and Janet (Jerry) Maharg of Zelienople; seven grandchildren, Soni (Mark) Indrokovic, Scott Sallach, Stephen (Rebecca) Sallach, Jennifer (Shannon) Ricciardo, Tracy (Joseph) Hoskinson, Anna Maharg and Lydia Maharg; five great-grandchildren, Tucker Indrokovic, Ella Sallach, Ben Ricciardo and Christy and Levi Hoskinson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Marti Liesinger, who died in 1988, and a great-grandson, Cole Sallach.

<B>LIESINGER </B>— Friends of Joseph Albert Liesinger, who died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., Butler. Visitation also will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev.
