Lipp

Dorothy A. Lipp, 98, of Forward Township, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, while under the care of AHN Wexford Hospital.

Born Sept. 6, 1927, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence F. Kretzler and Ruth E. McCommon Kretzler.

Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Matthias Catholic Church before it closed and Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Catholic Church. She volunteered in the church kitchens and at church events and belonged to the Christian Mothers. She retired from Mine Safety after working 20 years as a line worker. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and canning. Above all, she was a devoted wife and wonderful mother.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children, Frank C. (Patty) Lipp, Dolores R. Zimmerman and David J. Lipp; her grandchildren, Lou Zimmerman Jr., Shane Mahoney and Cindy Boyle; her stepgrandchildren, Jayson (Bree), Craig (Kim) and Mike (Ashley) Helmstedter; her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Makenzie and Sutton; stepgreat-grandchildren, Tessa, Evan, Haley, Kadance and Kendal; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Lipp; and her five brothers and one sister.

LIPP — Friends of Dorothy A. Lipp, who died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, will be received for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, PA 16063.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Divine Grace Parish.
