Poth

Robert E. “Bob” Poth, 83, of Evans City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, while under the care of St. Barnabas Health System.

Born Sept. 7, 1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Elmer Joseph Poth and Clara Mae (Nist) Poth.

Bob proudly served in the Army National Guard. He worked for Heinz Company for 28 years, detailing automobiles for the executives. He was a member of the VFW in Evans City.

Bob was a kind and caring man who would help anyone in need. He was physically fit and enjoyed lifting weights. Above all, he cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his fiancée of 18 years, Kathleen A. Kelley, of Evans City; his sons, Dr. Robert A. Poth and his wife, Heidi, of North Carolina, and Brian E. Poth, of Freedom; his stepson, David D. Hughes; his grandchildren, Alexander and Isabella Poth and Madison J. Hughes; his brother, Howard J. Poth and his wife, Marilyn, of Plum Borough; and his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Frances Rose Poth, and his second wife, Mary Ann Poth.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses at St. Barnabas for taking such great care of Bob.

POTH — Friends and family of Robert E. “Bob” Poth, who died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home.
