The historic Old Stone House in Brady Township is now officially under the ownership of Jennings Environmental Education Center.

The organization plans on renovating and reopening the site as soon as possible.

The structure, which originally opened as a tavern during the early 19th century, was saved from near-collapse and restored in 1963 as a living history museum. However, the site, which was most recently operated by Slippery Rock University, has been closed since 2020.

“While educational programming schedules are not set yet, we are excited to expand our programming for both the public and school-aged groups to include more of a focus on local history and its significance in our nation’s story,” said Wil Taylor, park manager at Jennings.
