Following a season-opening win over Mars last week, Seneca Valley was seeking a 2-0 start on Thursday night. Severe thunderstorms reared their head, though, and the Raiders’ matchup with Eric Kasperowicz’ North Hills squad will not take place.

“GAME UPDATE: Varsity football at North Hills is CANCELLED,” Seneca Valley’s athletic department wrote on X shortly before 8 p.m. “Ruled as a no contest and will not be rescheduled. JV football will play Friday at 3:30 at NexTier Stadium.”

The game had been pushed back for a tentative start at 9 p.m., that same account announced at 5:45 p.m., as severe weather alerts buzzed phones nearby.

The Raiders will host Penn Hills on Friday, Sept. 11, before traveling to Canon-McMillan to begin conference play on Sept. 18.
