Evelyn C. Christopher, 85, of Butler was chosen by the Lord to join Him in heaven at 5:20 a.m. Friday following a short illness.

Born July 10, 1922, in Wheeling, W.V., she was the daughter of Brenton Parks and Elizabeth Shawness Parks.

She retired from the housekeeping department at Sunnyview. She was a member of the Society of Animal Protection.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Mary)Shook of West Sunbury; six grandchildren, Tammy Hemphill, Sherry Bartholomew, Renea Shook, and James, Chad and Jeffrey Christopher; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole Brown, April, Joseph and Leanna Hemphill, Olivia Bartholomew, Aydan Christopher and Keaton Sharp; two great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and David Brown; and one sister, Shirley Parks of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Christopher; one son, James Christopher; three sisters, and two brothers.

<B>CHRISTOPHER</B> — Friends of Evelyn C. Christopher, who died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Bowen of the Middlesex Presbyterian Church officiating.
