June 16 — James R. Fulmer Sr., 66, of Butler was charged with bouncing a check for $750 to her landlord. The check was dated May 8 and written on an account of insufficient funds.

The victim told police that she mailed a certified letter to Fulmer, seeking payment. As of June 16, according to court documents, the defendant has failed to contact the victim and make payment. He is charged with bad checks.

10:15 p.m. Sunday — Joshua D. Norris, 35, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly pointed a loaded handgun at the head of his 25-year-old girlfriend and threatened her during a domestic dispute at their home on the 800 block of East Jefferson Street. No injuries were reported.

Norris, a felon, was arraigned on charges persons not to possess a firearm, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bond.

12:58 a.m. Sunday — Mia S. Miller, 21, of Murrysville, Westmoreland County, was injured in a rollover crash on Route 8 at the Picklegate Crossing. Police said she lost control of her vehicle and struck a hillside, ending on its passenger side. She suffered a minor injury. Police cited her for careless driving.

June 16 — Deanna S. Best, 22, of Butler was charged with taking money that the owner had accidentally left at a cash register at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is charged with a third-degree misdemeanor count of theft of lost or mislaid property.

[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock Police[/naviga:h3]

May 31 — Chet A. Smith, 44, of Boyers was charged with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a February traffic stop. Police said he was stopped around 1 a.m. Feb. 22 on New Castle Road and Christy Lane.

Smith was subsequently taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test, according to court documents, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.19 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

He is charged with driving under the influence and disregarding traffic lanes.

May 31 — Police charged Michael J. Churilla, 45, of Slippery Rock with fraudulently using another man’s credit card more than two dozen times earlier this year at several stores and businesses, and to make online purchases. In all, according to court documents, the unauthorized transactions totaled nearly $1,320. Churilla is charged with a felony count of access device fraud.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]

8:08 p.m. Thursday — Samuel W. Magill, 39, of Saxonburg was injured when he crashed his pickup truck into a utility pole and rolled over an embankment along South Benbrook Road in Center Township. The pole was broken in the wreck, causing wires to hit a pickup driven by James C. Hawn, 56, of Butler. Hawn was not injured.

Magill suffered an apparent minor injury. Investigators suspect he was driving under the influence of a controlled substance, according to a police report.

5:47 p.m. Thursday — Leroy William, 32, of Erie was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police came upon his disabled vehicle on Interstate 79 south.

4:06 p.m. June 20 — Michael L. Bure, 39, of Worthington, Armstrong County, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Route 422 east and Karnes Road in Summit Township.

In addition to DUI, Bure is charged with speeding, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, driving too fast for conditions, failing to sign his vehicle registration card and a seat belt violation.

June 16 — A 20-year-old Oakland Township woman reported that she was the victim of a case involving theft fraud and forgery. Police said their investigation continues.

May 31 — Colleen M. Coulter, 52, of Marion Township was charged with falsifying an address on a W-2 form in connection with a civil proceeding between herself and the Slippery Rock School District.

During a local agency due process hearing June 17, 2019, she stated on the record that she falsified the form that she presented to the district, according to court documents. She is charged with forgery, a felony.

May 31 — Police charged a Lawrence County teenager with making off with a parking boot that had been placed on a vehicle he was using in February in Slippery Rock. Cameron D. Marett, 19, of Volant had the vehicle, which is owned by his parents, booted around midnight Feb. 22 on North Main Street.

An employee at the Brake Doctor of Slippery Rock, which owns the boot, told police that when he returned around 9:45 a.m. that day, the vehicle and boot were gone. Marett is charged with theft.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

11:01 a.m. June 9 — No one was injured when a tractor-trailer struck a guardrail in a construction zone on Route 422 east at Pony Farm Road in North Buffalo Township. Police cited the driver, Michael S. Truitt, 47, of Fairmount City, Clarion County, with disregarding traffic lanes.

2:25 p.m. June 20 — Unknown shoplifters made off with 10 purses/handbags valued at a combined $1,200 from the Coach store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township.

Police said the thieves stashed the merchandise in shopping bags before leaving the store without paying.
