Mary E. "Betty" Stierer, 80, of Butler died at 11 a.m. Monday at Lowrie House.

Born April 19, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Andrew C. and Helen C. Mahoney Jamison.

She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Mount Mercy College. She was a loving homemaker who loved her family and her music. She had been a loving resident at the Lowrie House for four years.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond L. Stierer of Butler, whom she married April 28, 1951; one daughter, Patricia Stierer Coates and her husband, Glen, of Suffield, Conn.; two sons, Raymond D. Stierer and his wife, Kari, of Sewickley and Kevin A. Stierer and his wife, Tracey, of Phoenix, Md.; nine grandchildren, Megan and Jaime Coates of Suffield, Conn., Sarah, Julie and Raymond Stierer of Sewickley and Ashley, Dewey, Michael and Maire Stierer of Phoenix, Md.; and one sister, Virginia Kalinowski of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Mae O'Connor, and one brother, Charles Jamison.

<B>STIERER</B> — Friends of Mary E. "Betty" Stierer, who died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St.Services will be held at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, at 10 a.m. Thursday.
