Rasely

Ronald L. "Butch " Rasely, 68, of First Street died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday at the Butler Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Born Sept. 26, 1939, in Butler, he was the son of the late Ralph and Stella Lang Rasely.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He had been the owner and operator of Ron's Exxon for 30 years, and following that was at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and St. Paul Catholic Schools in their maintenance departments.

He was a veteran of the Marines, serving during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Rasely also was active in the Butler Area Baseball Association for more than 20 years. He and his wife also were active in the Butler Family Bowl Away Couples League.

Mr. Rasely was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie R. "Dutch" Rasely. They were married March 3, 1961, and she preceded him in death March 9, 2000.

He is survived by two sons, Mark A. Rasely and Darren Rasely and his wife, Bernice, both of Butler; a grandson, Troy Rasely; a brother, Wilbert Rasely and his wife, Phyllis, of Butler; two sisters, Eva Wilbert and Jean McCracken, both of Butler; a sister-in-law, Linda Kestner Shook of York; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a nephew.

<B>RASELY</B>— Friends of Ronald L. Rasely, who died Feb. 23, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St.A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Very Rev. Harry R. Bielewicz, his church pastor, officiating.
