9:39 p.m. Friday — Jason C. Kamerer, 42, of Cranberry Township was arrested for driving under the influence after an accident on Freedom Road near Route 19.
Police were notified after a witness reported a pickup truck hit a street sign, and drove away, according to court documents. The sign was broken off at the base.
Officers spotted the suspected pickup in the garage at Kamerer’s home. The truck was running and the defendant was “slumped over the driver’s wheel,” according to court documents.
The truck also had severe front driver’s side damage “consistent with striking a street sign,” police said.
Kamerer allegedly admitted that he had been drinking that night, and he failed two field sobriety tests. Police said he later refused to take a blood test.
He is charged with DUI and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock Police[/naviga:h3]
March 27 — Shawn M. Forsythe, 31, of Slippery Rock was charged with shoplifting seven items from the Back to the Vape Shop on South Main Street. Store surveillance video showed him taking the merchandise, valued at $335, on March 17, court documents said.
Forsythe is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

6:39 p.m. March 24 — Matthew M. Craw, 21, of Slippery Rock was arrested for drunken driving on Harmony Road near Kiester Road. He was pulled over after police spotted his vehicle’s inspection was expired.
Police said he admitted drinking alcohol and he subsequently failed field sobriety tests. He was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.138 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Craw is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
March 27 — Shawn M. Thomas, 45, of Slippery Rock was charged with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol and on marijuana in connection with a two-vehicle crash last month in Franklin Township.
Police said moments before the wreck about 1:40 a.m. March 12, Thomas was traveling east in the westbound lanes on Route 422. He narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a westbound tractor-trailer when he swerved his car into the middle turning lane, according to court documents.
He sideswiped the rig just east of Dick Road. A search of the car turned up two containers containing unidentified pills, a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana, and a marijuana pipe.
Police took Thomas to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.189 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Additionally, documents said, the defendant tested positive for marijuana.
Thomas is charged with DUI, driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right and careless driving.
March 27 — Caitlyn N. Connelly, 34, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle wreck last month in Brady Township. Police said her sport utility vehicle overturned on Route 528 just north of West Liberty Road.
The defendant admitted that she had been drinking “a couple wines” before the crash, and she subsequently failed field sobriety tests.
Connelly was taken to the barracks for a formal breath test that indicated her blood-alcohol level was 0.165 percent.
In addition to DUI, she is charged with disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
