Adams Twp

Jan. 25 — John W. Brown, 62, of Adams Township, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault, related to a Jan. 24 domestic incident on the 100 block of Joe Lane.

Police said they spoke with Brown’s girlfriend, who told officers Brown hit her in the face with a walking cane. Police said when speaking to Brown about the incident, he gave two different versions of what happened.

Jan. 24 — Michael A. Senff, 52, of Cranberry Township, was charged with DUI related to a Jan. 9 traffic stop at the intersection of Peters and Myoma roads in Mars.

Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road and failing to use a turn signal. Police said they smelled alcohol in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed Senff was impaired.

Police said a later breath test showed Senff’s blood-alcohol content at .180%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.

Cranberry Twp

Jan. 20 — Francis J. Gant, 38, of Washington, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft, related to items stolen over the course of more than two weeks from Walmart in Cranberry Township.

Police said Gant was a temporary employee for the business, and between Dec. 21 and Jan. 6 he stole about $744 worth of items.

Jan. 20 — Breana A. Garcia-Dixon, 26, of State College, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to items stolen Oct. 31 from Walmart in Cranberry Township.

Police said a store employee tried to stop two women who left without paying for items. Police reviewed security footage and saw Garcia-Dixon leaving without paying for items valued at $619.

Jan. 20 — Cameron N. Shealy, 31, of Akron, Ohio, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft and possessing stolen property related to items stolen Nov. 24 from Walmart in Cranberry Township.

Police said store employees noticed the theft Dec. 1 while reviewing security footage. Police said Shealy left without paying for $462 worth of items.

Police said Shealy has a violent criminal history and an active arrest warrant from the Aurora Police Department in Ohio.

Penn Twp

Jan. 19 — Matthew E. Josephs, 41, of Penn Township, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and reckless endangerment related to a domestic incident on the 100 block of Meadowbrook Road in Penn Township.

Police said they spoke with Josephs’ wife, who told officers Josephs had pulled her hair, pushed her to the ground and dragged her around the house.

Police said Josephs fled the home when his wife’s mother arrived to care for the couple’s children, and officers were unable to make contact with him later that night.

Saxonburg

Jan. 21 — Marjorie E. McAllister, 28, of Adamsburg, was charged with DUI related to a Jan. 8 report of wires down at the Corner Cones Ice Cream Stand on Herman Road in Summit Township.

Police said they found a single-vehicle crash involving a utility pole with McAllister as the driver. Police said while investigating they smelled marijuana in the vehicle and alcohol on McAllister.

Police said field sobriety tests showed McAllister was impaired. Police said a later breath test showed McAllister’s blood-alcohol content at .115%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.

State Police, Butler

Jan. 24 — Joseph Schreiner, 64, of Pittsburgh, was charged with DUI following a single-vehicle crash Nov. 26 on Route 8 near Hall Road in Brady Township.

Police said at the scene they found an overturned SUV resting along an embankment. Police said they smelled alcohol coming from Schreiner, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.

Police said a later blood test showed Schreiner’s blood-alcohol content at .10%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.

Jan. 24 — Mason C. Kauffman, 25, of Connoquenessing Township, was charged with DUI related to a Jan. 15 traffic stop on Whitestown Road near North Ridge Road in Connoquenessing Township.

Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said they saw an open beer can in the center console and smelled alcohol. Police said field sobriety tests showed Kauffman was impaired.

Police said a later breath test showed Kauffman’s blood-alcohol content at .162%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
