12:02 a.m. today — Christina Lee Cromer, 46, of Evans City was arrested for driving under the influence on Hansen Avenue. Police said Cromer also was cited for careless driving.4:03 a.m. Sunday — John D. Rob, 22, of Butler was arrested after a domestic dispute at the Veritago bar on West Cunningham Street. Police said Rob allegedly threatened his girlfriend, 25-year-old Kimberly Powers of Butler.The suspect was gone when police got there. Officers later ran after and caught Rob on Ridge Avenue. While in the holding cell at the police station, according to a police report, Rob urinated on the floor and through the cell bars.Police said he was cited for simple assault, public drunkenness and criminal mischief.7:25 p.m. Saturday — Cody A. Valorie, 22, of Butler is accused of punching 50-year-old John Locke in the head several times during an altercation at Locke's home in the 400 block of East Locust Street. Locke told police that Valorie had been drinking beer at his home when he became upset for some reason.Valorie, after hitting Locke, according to a police report, threw a brick threw a window at the house. He was cited for criminal mischief and harassment.2:35 a.m. Saturday — Nathan K. Eakin, 27, of Summit Township was arrested for DUI after police found him sleeping behind the wheel of his pickup truck stopped at South Monroe Street and Center Avenue. Police said Eakin also was cited for driving a vehicle with an expired registration.3:31 p.m. Friday — Austin M. Rottman, 19, of Butler Township was arrested after leading police on a short chase on his motorcycle.Police initially spotted Rottman, who was not wearing protective eye wear, on a cycle that had an improperly displayed license plate. When officers tried to stop the cycle, the suspect drove off. The chase continued through several streets and alleys.At one point, according to a police report, the cycle struck and damaged a fence on Fillmore Street. Police said they called off the chase after Rottman traveled through a yard and around a house. Later, however, Rottman was found on Evergreen Drive in Lyndora after allegedly hiding the motorcycle behind a house on Meadow Street.Rottman was arraigned on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving, hit-and-run, not having a motorcycle license, driving without required protective equipment and driving a vehicle without inspection. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail following arraignment.1:55 p.m. Wednesday — Patricia K. Cornetti, 45, of Butler is accused of claiming to be a police officer and threatening to arrest a woman during a dispute at a West Cunningham Street. Police said Cornetti had gone to Christine Pakutz's home and the two began to argue over a pit bull.Pakutz said she found the dog a week ago and took it home, according to court documents. She told police the suspect showed up at her home and took the pit bull from the front porch, claiming it was her dog. Cornetti allegedly showed Pakutz a chrome badge, telling Pakutz she was the police and was going to arrest Pakutz.Police said when they found Cornetti, documents said, she was wearing on her waist the badge apparently issued by the East Rochester fire/police in Beaver County.Cornetti is charged with impersonating a public servant.9:15 p.m. Sept. 23 — Tyler A. Irvine, 27, of Butler was arrested after allegedly breaking into a West Quarry Street apartment and stealing a television.Amber Valorie and William Moran, the apartment tenants, told police they discovered the break-in and suspected the defendant. Officers went to Irvine's apartment, one block away on West Quarry, and found the TV there, court documents said. Irvine claimed he had Moran's permission to go into the apartment and take the television set. Moran denied that claim.The defendant is charged with burglary and theft. He is free on $5,000 bail.
Sunday — A Remington rifle and a set of Golden Bear golf clubs were stolen from a pickup at a home on Rader School Road in Forward Township but not before the unknown thief took the pickup for a short drive down the road. The owner told police that the truck was unlocked and he had left the keys in the ignition. The theft happened between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.Sunday — An unknown thief stole a Pioneer AM/FM compact disc stereo from a car after smashing out all the windows of the vehicle at a home on Patton Road in Marion Township. The vandalism and theft happened between noon Saturday and 7:45 a.m. Sunday.9:08 p.m. Saturday — Jacob D. Campbell, 23, of Butler was hurt when a car rear-ended the sport utility vehicle he was driving on Route 108 just west of Normal Avenue in Slippery Rock. Campbell, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Police said Scott L. Moyer, 23, of Slippery Rock, who was driving the car, was cited for careless driving.10:10 a.m. Saturday — A tractor-trailer hauling an oversized load struck several low-hanging wires, pulling down three utility poles along Route 308 in Cherry Township. One of the wires also damaged the windshield of a pickup truck. A police report did not identify the tractor-trailer driver, who was not charged in the accident.Saturday — A Butler woman told police someone stole her cell phone from Lee's Place Bar on Herman Road in Summit Township. The theft happened between 8 and 8:30 p.m.8:02 p.m. Friday — Curt L. Gaiser, 53, of Connoquenessing was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on West Liberty Road in Brady Township.4:29 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Suzan A. Hixon, 50, of Mars struck the back of an SUV on West Main Street at the Dollar General store in Saxonburg. Police said Hixon was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Douglas W. Paulsen, 50, of Butler was driving the SUV.Friday — An unknown burglar driving a dark green Honda Civic stole jewelry and money from a house on Heller Road in Jefferson Township. The break-in happened between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m.9:45 a.m. Thursday — An unknown burglar driving a green Ford Ranger stole two water pumps, eight vacuum pumps, an electric motor and copper piping and fittings from a shed behind the Mount Chestnut Car Wash and Golf Course on North Road in Franklin Township. The suspect drove through the greens at the golf course in his getaway. The property stolen in the burglary, police said, is worth $4,140. Damage to the course was estimated at $1,000.Tuesday — Nicole A. Mikeska, 25, of East Butler faces theft-related charges after allegedly passing several bad checks between Sept. 24 and Tuesday at Fairground Market on New Castle Road in Prospect.Sept. 24 — An unknown thief stole a manure bucket from a home on Hermitage Road in Franklin Township. The bucket was taken Sept, 23 or 24.
7:59 p.m. Saturday — Donna M. Rearigh, 44, of Templeton was arrested for driving under the influence after her vehicle went off the road and got struck on an embankment at Route 28/66 and Sloan Hill Road in Rayburn Township.1:35 p.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt when a sport utility vehicle driven by Megan M. Johnson, 19, of Worthington backed out of a driveway and collided with a pickup truck on Old Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. Johnson and Manila Eiler, 49, of Kittanning, the pickup driver, were taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with minor injuries; both were wearing seat belts. Police said Johnson was cited for improperly backing a vehicle.2:20 p.m. Friday — Three people were hurt when cars driven by Valerie L. Smathers, 19, of Kittanning and Margaret E. Foltz, 76, of Worthington collided at Route 422 and Claypoole Road in West Franklin Township.Smathers and her two passengers, a 7-year-old boy and 10-year-old boy, both of Templeton, were taken to ACMH Hospital with unknown injuries. Smathers and the older boy were wearing seat belts, and the younger boy was in a child safety seat. Police said Smathers was cited for making an improper left turn.
Sept. 25 — About 200 feet of wiring was stolen from the electric meter at a Butler man's cabin on Claire Drive in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The theft happened between Sept. 3 and 25.
