A Butler man is accused of lifting a woman into the air by her throat after an altercation in Oakland Township, according to Saxonburg police.

Police responded Aug. 3 to a Chicora Road residence and spoke with the alleged victim. The woman said her feet were off the ground and she was unable to breath for about 10 seconds, police said. The woman said she had bruising around her neck and jaw after the incident.

The woman obtained a protection from abuse order against Yeager Monday.
