POLICE REPORTS
Thursday — Robert J. Draper, 43, was arraigned on a felony charge of child endangerment after police say his 4-year-old autistic son was found unsupervised about 7:25 p.m. June 3 walking on Penn Avenue in Lyndora with no socks or shoes on.
A neighbor saw the boy and notified authorities. Police got there and checked the neighborhood to try and find anyone who knew the child, but to no avail.
Police later called Butler County Children and Youth Services. But before a CYS official arrived, police located Draper, who lives on the 300 block of Penn Avenue.
According to charging documents, it took about 45 minutes to find the defendant.
He told officers that “he locks the doors so he had no idea what happened,” according to charging documents. He said he was downstairs trying to fix the dyer.
Draper also admitted that he had smoked marijuana earlier that day and also had “a couple of beers.”
The child's mother was notified and she came and took custody of him.
Draper was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.
12:58 p.m. Wednesday — Nancy L. Saylor, 61, of Bruin was hurt when the car she was riding in collided with a pickup truck in Summit Township. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with an apparent minor injury.The crash happened when Saylor's husband, Jack L. Saylor, 69, of Bruin, pulled from a stop sign at Thorn Run Road and collided with the truck driven by James E. Fleming, 22, of West Sunbury. Police cited Jack Saylor for a stop sign violation.8:23 p.m. Tuesday — Dai H. Rosenblum, 66, of Slippery Rock lost control of his car and struck a ditch on Route 8 in Clay Township.2:38 p.m. June 21 — An International truck driven by Tywonn T. Taylor, 25, of Erie struck a tree along Harmony Road just south of Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township. A police report noted that Taylor lost control of the truck when “the right side tire left the soft curb” of the road.Neither he nor his passenger was hurt. Police said Taylor was not cited due to the condition of the road.June 12 — Steven W. Dunmire, 26, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a May traffic stop in Butler. Police said he was pulled over about 10 p.m. May 25 for having a faulty license plate light.Dunmire admitted that he had used cocaine before driving, according to court documents. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that showed he had cocaine in his systemHe is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
7:42 a.m. June 15 — Christian Jordan, 24, of Chicora is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs after police were called for a car stopped on the 400 block of Rolling Hills Road in East Franklin Township and the driver unconscious at the wheel.Police said Jordan was eventually taken to ACMH Hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending lab results, according to a police report.
4:06 a.m. June 8 — Andrew J. Gerwig, 25, of Prospect was hurt when he lost control of his box truck and crashed on Interstate 79 in Lake Township. The truck ended on its passenger side in the center median.Police said Gerwig, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with an apparent shoulder injury. The truck had to be towed.He was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
