2:14 p.m. Jan. 28 — Jason A. McWilliams, 30, of Brady Township was allegedly caught driving a vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock device at Monroe and East Jefferson streets. He is required to drive a vehicle with the device, according to court documents. Police said his passenger owns the vehicle.

He is charged with the ignition interlock violation and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

11:57 p.m. Jan. 24 — Margaret F. Chaff, 60, of Butler Township was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence at Pillow Street and Fourth Avenue. A breath test later showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.183 percent, police said. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

She is charged with DUI, not using low beams and having a faulty rear light.

12:40 p.m. Sunday — No one was injured in a rear-end crash at Route 228 and Mars-Evans City Road. The collision occurred at a red light. Police did not immediately release the drivers’ names.

9 a.m. Sunday — Snow was blamed for a one-vehicle accident on Mars-Evans City Road near Mars Lumber. The driver, a 23-year-old Cranberry Township man, lost control of his car and struck a mailbox before traveling over a hillside and ending near a creek bed.

The man was not injured. Police did not immediately release his name. His car had to be towed up the hillside, but once back on the road he was able to drive it away, police said.

3:26 p.m. Friday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Hansen Avenue at Whitestown Road. The wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by Kimberly A. Summers, 28, of Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Zachery Polley, 24, of Butler.

The impact pushed Polley’s vehicle into a vehicle driven by Gemma Brailey, 60, of Butler. Summers’ and Polley’s vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Summers for driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.

9:40 a.m. Sunday — Shane K. O’Donnell, 21, of Sturgeon, Allegheny County, lost control of his car on ice and slid off Interstate 79 in Worth Township, hitting an embankment. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

8:45 a.m. Sunday — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on I-79 in Muddy Creek Township. The crash occurred when a car driven by Britany A. Moore, 31, of Saegertown, Crawford County, began sliding on ice and turned sideways, according to a police report.

Ian C. Rudy, 43, of Gibsonia, who was traveling behind the car, unsuccessfully attempted to steer around the car, but struck its driver-side door.

Moore and Rudy’s passenger, James E. Martorelli, 74, of Gibsonia, both suffered apparent minor injuries. Police cited Moore for driving too fast for conditions.

7:53 p.m. Saturday — A minivan driven by Elijah H. Stewart, 22, of Boyers, struck a tree in Donegal Township. Police said he lost control of the van on East Danville Road at Gameland Road, traveled about 30 yards in the yards of a home and hit the tree. The van had to be towed.

Jan. 28 — Brandon O. Haswell, 43, of Center Township was arraigned on several charges, including felony drug possession in connection with a November traffic stop in Butler. Police said he was stopped around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 30 for having a faulty license plate light while traveling on Main Street.

According to court documents, after the car stopped, police saw a prescription pill bottle thrown out the passenger side window. One of the troopers retrieved the bottle, which allegedly contained suspected cocaine. The defendant subsequently admitted that the contents were cocaine, police said.

“Haswell advised that he was delivering the cocaine to friends (who) asked him to get it for them,” documents said.

Police eventually took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which allegedly indicted he had marijuana in his system, and a blood-alcohol level of 0.137 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Haswell was arraigned on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, DUI and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

He also was cited for littering, a lighting violation and careless driving. He was released on nonmonetary bond following arraignment.

Jan. 28 — David R. Barlow, 46, of Butler Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a December traffic stop in Butler. He was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 29 on South Chestnut Street.

Police said they later took Barlow for a breath test, which allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.111 percent. He is charged with DUI, failing to stop at a red light, failing to yield to the right, driving too slow for conditions and careless driving.
