10:45 p.m. Monday — John J. Jackson, 43, of Butler was arrested on charges he assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute in the area of the 400 block of West Jefferson Street. A witness reported seeing the defendant repeatedly punch the woman and pull her by the hair. Police said the victim suffered injuries to her hand and head.Jackson was arraigned on simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bond.

Thursday — Adriann M. Cunningham, 54, of Saxonburg was arraigned on charges that she illegally tried to buy a gun May 15 at Dick's Sporting Goods in Greenwood Plaza. She is accused of giving false background information on required paperwork Nov. 18 when she tried to buy a .38-caliber revolver.Cunningham was arraigned on charges of unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor. She was released on her own recognizance following arraignment.

Nov. 29 — Tyler R. Korvick, 24, of Warrendale was arrested on charges he took 17 pieces of jewelry from a home on Brookside Drive last year. He allegedly took the items, valued at a combined $7,550, while at the house for a party that the victim's son threw in 2019.A search of pawn dealer records, according to court documents, found that Korvick sold the victims' jewelry at a Pittsburgh area store on July 4, 2019. He was paid $180 for the items, police said.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Korvick on a felony charge of receiving stolen property. He is free on $3,000 bail.

7:11 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Noelle M. Marini, 52, of Harrisville struck a deer on Route 8 just north of Centertown Road in Mercer Township. He was not hurt, but his car had to be towed.Monday — Police reported they are investigating multiple thefts from mailboxes in Parker City, Armstrong County. The suspected thief is believed to be walking in the area of Washington and Hickory streets and stealing packages from mailboxes.Investigators said they have a suspect, but they are asking anyone with more information to call 724-284-8100.Security footage showed the suspect to be a white man with a limp. He was seen dressed in blue jeans and a light brown jacket.12:20 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Trillian N. Skinner, 30, of Worthington, Armstrong County, struck a car at Route 422 west and Bonniebook Road in Summit Township driven by Herbert M. Curran, 68, of East Brady, Clarion County. No one was injured. Police cited Skinner for a red light violation.Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Brandon P. Byers, 24, of Saxonburg struck a tree along Rennick Road, west of Zillweger Lane, in Jefferson Township. Police said Byers had fled the scene by the time they got there.Byers was cited for failing to immediately notify police of an accident, illegally abandoning a vehicle and driving on the wrong side of the road.4:57 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Lexus K. Stewart-Lloyd, 19, of Rural Valley, Armstrong County, collided with another car on Route 68 at East Slippery Rock Street in Chicora. Neither she nor the other driver, Margaret K. Craig, 60, of Chicora, was injured.Police cited Stewart-Lloyd for a stop sign violation.Friday — An unknown thief stole a box containing six bottles of wine, valued at nearly $120, that the U.S. Postal Service delivered to a 60-year-old woman's home on the 3400 block of Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. The theft occurred between noon and 3 p.m.3:30 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Sonia R. Carson, 51, of Saxonburg struck a deer on Branchton Road, west of Route 308, in Cherry Township. She was not injured, but her car had to be towed.9:42 a.m. Dec. 9 — One person was injured when a pickup driven by Sean C. Edinger, 52, of Renfrew collided with a car at Route 68 and Kriess Road in Connoquenessing Township. The truck overturned on its passenger side and traveled about 50 feet before hitting a utility pole.The other driver, Lydia S. Young, 20 of Butler, suffered an apparent minor injury. Edinger was cited for disobeying traffic control devices.Police ask that anyone who saw the crash to call 724-284-8100.4 p.m. Dec. 8 — Troy J. Bellis, 38, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted and strangled his wife during a domestic dispute at their home on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.The victim told police that the defendant wrapped his right arm around her neck and squeezed to the point that she felt like she could not breathe, according to court documents. Police said she had redness on the neck area.In Bellis' account to police, documents said, he said his wife “pushed him and he then choked her with his right arm.”He was arraigned on a felony charge of strangulation, a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a summary chagre of harassment. He was released on $30,000 unsecured bail.Dec. 8 — An Arkansas man was arraigned on charges he made improper physical contact with a woman last month at the Sheetz store on Route 8 in Center Township. Rodrick Hatten, 29, of Texarkana is accused of grabbing the victim's waist around 10:15 a.m. Nov. 10 and making a thrusting motion with his pelvis.Police said the defendant's groin made contact with the woman's buttocks. Police said video surveillance evidence was obtained as part of the investigation.Hatten was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of indecent assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond following arraignment.4:23 p.m. Dec. 7 — Two people were injured when a sport utility vehicle driven by Lori E. Brown, 56, of Renfrew struck a pickup truck at Route 68 and Brandywine Boulevard in Connoquenessing Township. Ernie D. Parshall, 51, of Lyndora, the other driver, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.Brown suffered apparent minor injuries to her right hand. The truck had to be towed. Police cited Brown for a red light violation.11:53 a.m. Dec. 7 — Shirley J. Holben, 79, of Sarver was injured when she lost control of her car and traveled into a yard on Winfield Road in Winfield Township, hitting multiple fence posts and a concrete porch before ending in a ditch.Holben was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Her car had to be towed. She was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Dec. 2 — Police charged an Ohio woman for stealing a man's personal check from his former home in Butler last year. The defendant, Terri S. Lonzo, 38, of Newark, allegedly deposited the check for $200 into her own account.The victim, who now lives in Franklin Township, told police that Lonzo was a former live-in girlfriend, according to court documents. He noted that she would have known where he kept his checkbook. The couple's relationship ended in May 2019.On Sept. 9 of this year, police said, his bank contacted him, advising him of an overdraft in his checking account. The overdraft involved a $200 check that he did not authorize. The investigation linked the defendant to the unauthorized transaction.Lonzo is charged with two counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property, all misdemeanors.
