July 30 — Dustin W. Scott, 25, of Butler, was charged with felony criminal mischief, related to a 10 a.m. report of a broken window at Gateway Engineering, 122 W. Brady St., Butler.Police said surveillance footage shows a man throwing a chunk of hardened asphalt at the window, breaking it. According to employees, the window cost about $5,000 before installation.Police said other officers identified the man as Scott, and when police arrested him later that day, he was wearing the same clothes as those shown in the footage.
July 28 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Glade Run Road near Home Avenue.Police said they cited Richard Smith, 61, with speeding, after he crashed his car into the rear of another driven by Beverly Geibel, 70. Police said no injuries were reported at the scene.July 6, 11:16 p.m. — Cory Hennessy, 32, of Eau Claire, was charged with accidents involving attended vehicles and several summary traffic violations after he allegedly fled the scene of a two-vehicle accident in the 200 block of Meridian Road.July 28, 11:30 a.m. — Christa Knox, 46, of Butler, was charged with retail theft and public intoxication after allegedly removing 57 items valued at $405.56 from Walmart.July 29, 5:48 p.m. — Amy Bell, 38, of Tionesta, was cited for retail theft for allegedly failing to pay for $36.97 in merchandise at Walmart.
12:36 p.m. July 26 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Slippery Rock Road in Slippery Rock Township.Police said they cited the 16-year-old driver from of Portersville with speeding, after he drove off the road and flipped the vehicle. Police said the teen was taken to a hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger, 15, of Slippery Rock, was uninjured.July 24 — Laura M.R. Kipp, 35, of East Brady, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanors of terroristic threats,simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct,after she allegedly brandished her gun in the parking lot of Switchback racetrack in Clay Township.Police said Kipp and a man were arguing over relationship issues, when Kipp pulled a 9 mm pistol out of her truck, pointed it at the man and flashed a flashlight in his eyes. Police said they later found a 9 mm pistol in the truck, as well as another .45-caliber one.July 23 — Rene G. Huet, 46, of Brackenridge, was charged with a second-offense DUI, stemming from a June 13 traffic stop on West Sunbury Road in Center Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Huet was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.151%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.July 23 — Roger J. Karnes, 59, of Albion, who is a lifetime Megan's Law registrant, was charged with failing to register with state police and failing to verify his address.Police said Karnes was related to a person whose death was being investigated by state police. Police said they tried to call Karnes multiple times at his listed phone number with no returned or answered calls.Police said Karnes sold his vehicle and had the buyer drop him off in Smethport, and he was unable to be located until he was arrested by state police from the New Castle barracks.12:55 p.m. July 20 — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township.Police said Kathleen L. Moore, 66, of Oil City, was cited for following too closely, after her vehicle crashed into the back of one driven by Fred L. Pryor, 56, of Slippery Rock. Pryor's vehicle was pushed into a third vehicle driven by Brittany L. Beck, 30, of Slippery Rock.No one was taken to a hospital as a result of the crash.July 18 — Dale K. Butler, 61, of Prospect, was cited for leaving the scene of a one-vehicle crash around 7:58 p.m. July 18 on Euclid Road in Clay Township.Police said Butler allegedly swerved to avoid an animal in the road and hit a tree. Police said he left the scene and failed to notify them. Police said they believe Butler suffered a minor injury in the crash.July 17 — Erin M. Schuller, 34, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a June 3 traffic stop on Mercer Road in Center Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding 49 mph in a 35 mph zone. Police said field sobriety tests showed Schuller was impaired, and later blood tests showed her blood-alcohol content was 0.117%. In Pennsylvania a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
