2:40 a.m. Tuesday — Christopher B. Myers, 36, of Clay Township allegedly gave police a false name before they determined he was wanted on a bench warrant. He is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities.

June 25 — Police charged Michele Ann Scott, 38, of Cabot with bouncing three checks at the Buffalo Plaza Giant Eagle store. The checks, which were passed between April 17 and 19, were allegedly written on an account with insufficient funds.The checks totaled $581.76. Scott is charged with counts of bad checks.

June 20 — Police charged Nathan D. Smith, 43, of Slippery Rock with being nearly three times the state's legal limit for alcohol stemming from an earlier traffic stop on Center Street. He was pulled over around 12:50 a.m. June 14 for several violations.Smith at first admitted to having three beers, police said. But he eventually conceded it was more than 10 beers, according to court documents. He also allegedly acknowledged he was drunk.Police said he showed impairment during field sobriety testing, and he was taken to the Slippery Rock University police station for a breath test, which indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.237 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Smith is charged with driving under the influence and careless driving.

12:15 a.m. Thursday — A 13-year-old boy escaped from the Summit Academy reform school on Herman Road in Summit Township. The teen was caught shortly before 4 a.m.7:02 p.m. Wednesday — Alexandra N. Weeklund, 26, of Harrisville struck the back of a northbound car that had stopped to turn left off Route 8 in Mercer Township.The other driver fled the scene, police report. Weeklund was able to drive her vehicle away.6:59 a.m. Wednesday — Both Mark A. Kroneberg, 20, of Butler and Andrew G. Myers, 21, of Cabot had “heavy front-end damage” to their vehicles after an accident on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Neither reported injuries.Kroneberg didn't see Myers enter a stop sign intersection before he also entered the intersection, hitting Myers' vehicle.5:36 a.m. July 15 — Tyler L. Chess, 27, of Saegertown left the right side of Interstate 79 while trying to veer left. His car hit a guide rail, spun, then hit an embankment on the other side of the road. He was uninjured.9:08 a.m. July 14 — A three-car accident at the intersection of Winfield Road and Bear Creek Road left the four people involved uninjured, police report.Elizabeth A. Spak, 85, of New Kensington pulled her vehicle into the intersection after stopping at a stop sign and into the passenger side of another vehicle, and then rolled into a third vehicle. The first collision caused heavy damage to both cars.The other two vehicles were driven by Gerard R. Gastonguay, 69, of Cabot and Pierson J. Marlowe, 25, of Sarver, respectively. Phyllis A. Gastonguay was a passenger in Gerard Gastonguay's car.Spak was cited for violating stop sign laws.July 13 — An unknown driver drove off Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township and hit a tree, fire hydrant and traffic sign before fleeing the scene.The crash occurred between 11 p.m. July 12 and 6 a.m. July 13.9:52 a.m. July 11 — Dylan E. Burkert, 27, of Fredonia hit a large amount of standing water on New Castle Road in Worth Township.Burkert lost control of his car and left the road. He went over an embankment and into a ditch.11:33 p.m. July 10 — Robert K. Weed, 44, of Philadelphia wasn't injured when he struck an abandoned Ford Focus on the right side shoulder of Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township.Weed was cited for driving outside the lanes of traffic.July 9 — A 12-gauge shotgun was found along the road at the corner of Brownsdale and Reibold roads. Anyone with information should contact police.9:49 p.m. June 28 — A motorcycle driver fled from a state police vehicle after the officer tried to perform a traffic stop on Route 422 near Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.The driver rode south on Bonniebrook Road. Police report that the officer “voluntarily discontinued” pursuit. Its driver was a white man who had a white woman riding on the back.Police are seeking information about the vehicle. It was dark in color with purple and green undercarriage lighting. Its license plate number is T0875.June 24 — Police charged a caregiver with stealing prescription medication from a patient's home on Studebaker Road in Worth Township. The painkillers were allegedly taken earlier in June.The suspect, Eileen C. Nichols, 59, of Slippery Rock, is charged with theft and criminal mischief.8:58 p.m. June 22 — Police are accusing Matthew Young of Portersville of drunken driving after he rolled his vehicle on Cheeseman Road in Muddy Creek Township.Young was transported in a helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment following the wreck.He crashed his 1997 Toyota Camry into a ditch, rolling it and then hitting a telephone pole, according to police.State Police, Mercer12:12 p.m. July 20 — Lester D. Lee, 18, of Butler crashed his vehicle into the rear of another vehicle on Hadley Road in Otter Creek Township in Mercer County.Lee struck a vehicle driven by Roman R. Coblentz, 45, of Greenville. Coblentz was stopped in the road, waiting to make a left-hand turn with his turn signal on.Neither were injured, but both vehicles were damaged enough to be disabled. Both men wore seat belts.

Wednesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited American Legion Post 117 on South Main Street in Butler for violating the state liquor law.Police said the post sold alcohol to nonmembers and also failed to maintain records in compliance with the law. The violations occurred March 31, April 23 and Jan. 1 to June 17.An administrative law judge will hear the case.
