July 28 — Thaddaeus J. Marchlewski, 42, of Saxonburg, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a July 3 traffic stop on Bear Creek Road in Buffalo Township. Police said they stopped the vehicle because something underneath it appeared to be sparking. Police said the front wheel was angled outward at about 90 degrees and the tire was off the rim.Police said Marchlewski hit a utility pole earlier that night. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and although he agreed at the scene, Marchlewski refused to have his blood tested once at the hospital.July 26 — Richard Ames, 59, of Sarver, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a May 27 report of a man passed out in his vehicle on Sarver Road in Buffalo Township.Police said they found Ames sleeping in the driver's seat of his car, which was partially parked on the shoulder of the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Ames was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.25%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
July 29 — Kristoffer M. Ion, 30, of Butler, was charged with resisting arrest, related to a bench warrant arrest on July 28. Police said Ion charged at officers, and a struggle ensued. Police said they told Ion they would use a Taser if he didn't comply, which he eventually did. Police said once handcuffed, Ion again began pushing back and away from officers as they took him toward the police cruiser.July 29 — Cory J. Hennessy, 33, of Eau Claire, was charged with leaving the scene of a July 6 vehicle crash on Meridian Road in Butler Township. Police said a report came in that a driver and passenger were fleeing on foot from a crash. Police found the passenger, who said Hennessy was driving the vehicle and also is the vehicle's registered owner.Police said a K-9 search failed to find Hennessy. Police said investigating the crash, they found the other driver had been backing up a trailer into his driveway when Hennessy crashed into the side of it.July 28 — David W. Schuster, 30, of Butler, was charged with simple assault and terroristic threats, related to a July 27 report of someone wielding a knife near the Citizens Bank at 301 N. Main St. in Butler.Police said Schuster got into an argument with a woman and pulled out a pocket knife, according to the woman. Police said the woman recalled him using the term “air you out” toward her.
11:30 a.m. July 29 — Christa D. Knox, 46, of Saxonburg, was charged with felony retail theft and cited for public drunkenness, related to an incident at Walmart in Butler Township.Police said a store employee stopped Knox, and she was found with about $405 worth of health and beauty items. Police said Knox also appeared to be intoxicated, and that she had two prior retail theft convictions.2:55 p.m. July 27 — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on New Castle Road in Butler Township. Shannon Lynn Winters, 39, of Boyers rear-ended a vehicle driven by Marlene Crouch, 85 of Butler, which was pushed into the rear of a vehicle operated by Carter Judy, 20, of Butler, police said.Police said Winters and Crouch suffered minor injures and were treated at the scene. Police said Judy was uninjured.

McElravy, 72, of Chicora, was charged with a first-offense DUI following a one-vehicle crash June 28 on Butternut Road in Fairview Township.Police said field sobriety tests showed McElravy was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.098%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.July 29 — Devan J. Logue, 19, of Chicora, was charged with a first-offense DUI following a July 7 two-vehicle crash on Medical Center Road in Chicora.Police said field sobriety tests showed Logue was impaired, and a later breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.289%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.July 29 — Richard T. Locke, 48, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI, following a one-vehicle crash June 20 on North Main Street Extension in Center Township.Police said they arrived at the scene and found a crashed Ford F-150. A witness said the truck swerved off the road and hit multiple mailboxes before traveling head-on into an embankment.Police said Locke told officers that he had drank two beers earlier that night, but the reason he crashed was because he blacked out while choking on water.Police said a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content was 0.08%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.July 29 — Krystal K. Krauchak, 33, of Butler, was charged with first-offense DUI and child endangerment, related to her June 9 visit to the state police barracks in Butler Township.Police said Krauchak had arrived with her 3-year-old son to discuss information about her DUI arrest the day before. Police said while speaking with her, she appeared intoxicated, and she admitted to using marijuana, but noted she had a medical marijuana card.Police said they performed a drug recognition evaluation and a breath test, which also showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.329%. A later blood test allegedly showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.322%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
