Oct. 20 — Justin P. Dugan, 41, of Sarver, was charged with two counts of simple assault, related to an alleged domestic dispute at his Primrose Drive home.Police said they met with Dugan's wife, who told them he had assaulted her following an argument. The wife allegedly told officers at one point, Dugan was stabbing items in their garage and said he wanted to do that to her.Police said they saw red abrasions on her torso and hand marks on her forearm. Police said Dugan had left the home before police arrived.
Oct. 18 — Jordan McKain, 24, of Butler Township, was charged with a second-offense DUI, related to a Sept. 19 investigation into a hit-and-run on the 900 block of Center Avenue in Butler.Police said they followed a fluid trail from the scene to McKain's home on Freeport Road.
12:02 p.m. Oct. 15 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Freeport Road near Morningside Drive.Police said a vehicle driven by Jaedyn Jankovich, 30, of Butler, pulled out of a driveway and into the path of a pickup driven by Janet Flanders, 77, of Cabot.Both drivers suffered minor injuries, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Oct. 19 — Richard K. Steck, 65, of Gibsonia, was charged with felony fleeing from an officer, related to an attempted stop Sept. 23 that started near the intersection of Deer Creek and Kyle roads in Middlesex Township.Police said they attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the vehicle passed another vehicle as it sped away and the pursuit was ended.Police said they later collaborated with West Deer Police in Allegheny County to identify Steck as the driver and locate the vehicle.Oct. 19 — Patrick R. Connelly, 44, of Valencia, was charged with four misdemeanors, two counts of child endangerment and two counts of reckless endangerment following an incident at his McFann Road home in Middlesex Township.Police said Connelly was watching his children when he and two other men overdosed on narcotics, all needing to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
Oct. 18 — Ashley L. Malesh, 32, of Slippery Rock, was charged with driving under a DUI-suspended license related to an Oct. 14 investigation on North Main Street near Slippery Rock Area Elementary School.Police said they were following a vehicle and noted the clothing of both the driver and passenger. Police said when they caught up with the vehicle, they noticed the driver and passenger had changed positions.Police said Malesh later admitted to driving.
Oct. 18 — Timothy R. Kruth, 61, of Pittsburgh, was charged with making a false statement while attempting to buy a gun at Dunham's Sports in Butler Township.Police said he pleaded guilty to a DUI in 2009, and he responded otherwise on the form.1:45 a.m. Oct. 18 — Ryan K. Bowser, 44, of Butler, was arrested and charged with simple assault related to a domestic altercation at a home on Moran Road in Summit Township.Police said they met with a woman who said her boyfriend, Bowser, punched her in the face twice. Police said they saw the woman had a cut on her lip and a bruised right eye.Oct. 18 — Scott M. Stewart, 44, of Butler, was charged with making a false statement during an attempted gun purchase at Rural King in Butler Township.Police said Stewart is prohibited from buying a gun because of prior DUI, child endangerment, theft and retail theft convictions. Stewart allegedly stated otherwise on the application.Oct. 18 — Gregory D. Baker, 35, of Prospect, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a Sept. 26 traffic stop on Route 488 in Prospect.Police said they stopped the vehicle for traveling 58 mph in a 45 mph zone and crossing lines on the road. Police said they smelled alcohol coming from Baker, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.Police said a later breath test showed Baker's blood-alcohol content at .165%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.Oct. 18 — Hunter T. Gruver, 25, of Parker, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a Sept. 3 traffic stop on Route 38 near its intersection with Old Brick Road in Washington Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.Police said a later blood test showed Gruver had meth and marijuana in his system.
7:17 a.m. Oct. 21 — A 12-year-old Freeport boy suffered minor injuries after he was hit by a car, according to police.Police said the boy walked into the intersection of Buffalo and Washington streets in Freeport, Armstrong County, toward his bus as it arrived, and a car driven by Wendy J. Olszewski, 67, of Freeport, hit him.He was taken by ambulance to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
4:08 p.m. Oct. 19 — State police responded to a two-vehicle crash on West Lawrence Avenue in Wayne Township, Lawrence County.According to police, a vehicle driven by Joshua M. Mullins, 23, of Ellwood City, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Jessica S. Hughes, 36, of Portersville.Police said Hughes suffered a suspected minor injury, but was not transported for further treatment. Mullins was listed as uninjured, but he was cited for following too closely.
