Nov. 16 — James G. Rios, 22, of Johnstown, was charged with misdemeanor theft, stolen property possession and bad checks, related to failed payments to Metal Supermarkets in Cranberry Township.The company's owner tried to process a check worth about $1,927, and it failed because the account was closed. Repeated attempts to secure payment from Rios failed.
6:43 p.m. Nov. 23 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on North Pike Road near Winfield Road in Winfield Township.A vehicle driven by Joi J. Sanford, 60, of Vandergrift, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Robert J. Shelton, 48, of Cabot, which was stopped to make a left turn.Both drivers suffered minor injuries from the crash, and neither was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Sanford was cited for careless driving.12:31 a.m. Nov. 23 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Reibold Road in Forward Township.Troy W. Hammerbeck, 42, of Evans City, lost control of his vehicle, which then hit an embankment and overturned. Hammerbeck was arrested under suspicion of DUI.6:01 a.m. Nov. 22 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on East Portersville Road near the Interstate 79 North ramp in Muddy Creek Township.Thomas R. Zoelle, 54, of Renfrew, failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign, causing a crash with a vehicle driven by Frederick E. Krueger, 31, of Wampum. Neither driver was reported to be injured.Nov. 17 — Jordyn E. Katic, 21, of Gibsonia, was charged with a first-offense DUI, related to a disturbance caused on the 300 block of Normal Avenue in Slippery Rock.A resident called police about two people knocking on their door and flipping their garbage cans. Police located Katic and a man.Police saw the driver's seat was set for someone of Katic's stature, and the vehicle's engine was still warm. Police also found a credit or debit card on the car's floor on the driver's side with her name on it.A later breath test allegedly showed her blood-alcohol content at .205%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.Nov. 17 — Nathaniel S. Trump, 33, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession, related to an Aug. 20 traffic stop on Route 422 in Summit Township.Police stopped the vehicle for a broken brake light. The driver was arrested for an active warrant from Westmoreland County. Trump was a passenger in the vehicle. During a search, police found six pills of gabapentin as well as buprenorphine and naloxone strips.Nov. 17 — Akayda R. Provost, 22, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault, related to a domestic incident Nov. 10.Provost and another person are accused of pulling a woman from her car and beating her. The alleged victim told officers Provost slammed her on the ground multiple times.Police noted the woman suffered injuries to her eyes, hair, left arm, left shoulder, left knee, back and ribs, and she later was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital.Nov. 17 — Derek L. Salmon, 20, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment, related to a Nov. 9 traffic stop near on Route 422 near the South Shore ramp in Muddy Creek Township.Police used radar to record a vehicle speeding 104 mph in a 55-mph zone. When the officer conducted the stop, they saw a child in the back.Nov. 17 — Thomas G. Hiles, 68, of Petrolia, was charged with a first-offense DUI following a single-vehicle crash Oct. 17 on Fairmont Road near Cherry Road in Fairview Township.Police smelled alcohol on Hiles, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired. A later blood test showed Hiles' blood-alcohol content at .214%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.Nov. 15 — Garrin Ross, 23, of Youngstown, Ohio, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor harassment and unlawful dissemination of intimate images, related to a reported break-in Oct. 22 on the 300 block of Stillwater Lane in Slippery Rock Township.Ross' former girlfriend told police she woke up that morning and found Miller had entered her apartment, entered her bedroom and was going through her phone without permission.She told police that friends later told her private photographs were being shared on social media by Ross. Police said they spoke with Ross, who confirmed ownership of the accounts used to share the images.Nov. 15 — Sebastian M. Reyes, 21, of Wexford, was charged with a first-offense DUI, related to a July 3 traffic stop on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.Police stopped the vehicle for traveling 25 mph in a 70-mph zone and crossing lines on the road. Police smelled alcohol in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed Reyes was impaired.Reyes refused a breath test; however, he was 20 years old at the time of the stop.2:59 a.m. Oct. 10 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Shannon Road near Stone House Drive in Connoquenessing Township.Krista M. Burton, 38, of Evans City, drove through a yard and hit a utility pole. According to police, Burton then drove away from the scene of the crash, and she was later arrested under suspicion of DUI.Burton suffered a suspected minor injury, but she refused further treatment.
