4:30 a.m. Sunday — Brian H. Sharpe, 28, who is homeless, was arrested after he allegedly strangled his ex-girlfriend at her home on the 200 block of South Church Street. He was arraigned on a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault, and later placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000.The victim told police that she had allowed Sharpe to stay at her house Saturday evening because he is homeless. She recounted that he later attacked her, according to court documents, grabbing her throat and neck with both of his hands, and squeezing to the point that she could not breathe. The defendant eventually ran out of the house.Police said the victim had redness around the neck, slight swelling to the right eye, and bruising and scratches on both arms.2:01 a.m. Saturday — An Arizona man was arrested for drunken driving after police found him slumped over in the driver's seat of an SUV stopped at a traffic light at South Main and East Wayne streets.An officer was able to awaken the suspect, Michael K. Loudermilk, 41, of Phoenix, who admitted that he had “a lot” to drink before police found him, according to court documents. He also acknowledged that he had earlier done several marijuana dabs with friends.Loudermilk was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, DUI, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, improperly parking on a road, and driving a vehicle with an open container of alcohol. He was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bond.Friday — Police detained Matthew L. Summerville, 41, who has no known address, in connection with a felony shoplifting incident Oct. 15 at the Dollar General store on North Main Street.Summerville is accused of taking two alarm clocks and several items valued at a combined $46.50, according to court documents. Police said they used surveillance video to identify the defendant.Because Summerville has four prior shoplifting convictions, he is charged with a felony count of retail theft.Oct. 23 — Jouline L. Walker, 30, of Butler, was charged with driving on at least a half-dozen drugs and having a stamp bag of suspected heroin and LSD stemming from a traffic stop last month on Alpha Avenue near Brown Avenue. She was pulled over at 10:05 p.m. Sept. 6.While at Walker's car, according to court documents, an officer noticed a pill bottle containing a stamp bag of suspected heroin on the front passenger seat. Police seized the bottle during a search of the vehicle. The search also turned up another stamp bag and suspected LSD on blotter paper.The defendant eventually was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results, documents said, indicated she tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, prescription medication, benzoylecgonine, LSD and fentanyl.Walker is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.

6:42 p.m. Monday — Darrell R. Pacoe, 47, of Butler, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a family member and threatened to kill the victim, saying he was going to get a gun, during a domestic dispute on the 400 block of Vista Drive.Pacoe was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond following arraignment.Tuesday — Police charged James E. Ehlinger, 28, of Butler, stemming from a report around 4:15 p.m. Oct. 21 of someone making a sexual act in front of a business at Point Plaza. Ehlinger also is accused of following the victim, a woman, from the shopping plaza until she turned into the state police barracks.He is charged with stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct.Wednesday — Antonio S. DiDomenico, 40, of Butler, was charged with drugged driving stemming from an August crash on Route 422 east. He was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries following the crash around 7 p.m. Aug. 26.Police said the crash occurred when DiDomenico's sport utility vehicle drifted off the road and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle. He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, disregarding traffic lanes, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and reckless driving.4:53 p.m. Tuesday — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Route 8 north at the University Korner. The crash occurred when one of the drivers, Eugene Sekeras, 80, of Sarver, turned into the path of the other vehicle driven by Todd Dero, 49, of Butler. Sekeras and his passenger were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.Police cited Sekeras for making an improper left turn.

Tuesday — Police reported that an unknown thief walked into Dunkin' on South Main Street in Slippery Rock last month and stole a thermometer valued at nearly $65. The suspect fled in a tan Ford Focus. The theft occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Oct. 16. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.6:06 p.m. Monday — Jerry M. Sprouse, 50, of Kittanning, lost control of his pickup and struck a ditch on Stoughton Road about two miles west of Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. He was not injured, but his pickup had to be towed.1:23 a.m. Monday — A Franklin County man crashed his car into a ditch on Route 8 just south of County Line Road in Mercer Township. The driver, Quinn A. Bounds, 23, of St. Thomas, was not injured. His car had to be towed. Police cited Bounds for driving too fast for conditions and driving an unregistered vehicle.9:44 p.m. Sunday — No injuries were reported when a car driven by Danna R. Ibrahim, 20, of Pittsburgh, struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. The car had to be towed.7:03 a.m. Sunday — A deer struck the side of a sport utility traveling on Interstate 79 North in Jackson Township. David P. Herzog, 58, of Freedom, Beaver County, was the driver. He was not injured, but the vehicle had to be towed.9:07 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Phillip J. Reynolds, 28, of Butler, rear-ended a pickup on Mercer Road just north of Route 8 in Center Township. Richard H. Zedreck, 27, of Hilliards, was the other driver. No one was injured, but the car had to be towed. Police cited Reynolds for failing to stop and give information and render aid after an accident.7:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Dallas M. Rivera, 20, of Evans City, rear-ended a minivan on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. Austin Gupton-Charlton, 19, of Butler, was the other driver. No one was injured, but the car had to be towed.2:58 p.m. Friday — A 17-year-old West Sunbury boy lost control of his sport utility vehicle and overturned on the 300 block of Hooker Road in Clay Township. Police did not release the name of the boy, who was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Neither the teen nor his passenger, a 17-year-old from West Sunbury, was injured, but the SUV was towed.5:08 p.m. Thursday — Willow S. Mortimer, 18, of Petrolia, was injured when she lost control of her car and crashed on Main Hill Road just east of Jamison Street in Fairview Township. The car went off the road and overturned on its driver's side before hitting a boulder and ending back on its wheels.Mortimer was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Her car had to be towed, and police cited her for driving too fast for conditions.2:41 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Brandon P. Critchlow, 24, of Butler, struck a utility pole along Victory Road in Jefferson Township. The pole and wires were left partially hanging over the road following the crash. Police cited Critchlow for driving too fast for conditions.1:23 p.m. Oct. 20 — Noah J. Carben, 18, of Butler, lost control of his pickup and struck a realtor's “for sale” sign along the 500 block of Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.5:31 p.m. Oct. 21 — A pickup driven by Randy J. Bollinger, 32, of Sarver, rear-ended a car that was stopped for traffic on Route 356 just north of Chapelview Drive in Winfield Township. Mackenzie C. Smith, 32, of Butler was the other driver. Police cited Bollinger for a windshield obstruction violation.

Sunday — Police are investigating a suspected case of extortion that victimized a 57-year-old Pine Township man.The man notified police that he had sent naked pictures of himself to an unknown suspect. According to a police report, the suspect threatened to send the pictures to the man's wife unless he paid the suspect $500.The victim, in turn, sent the suspect $500 in gift cards through emailed photos. The victim never met the suspect in person, the report said, and he was advised that he was the victim of a scam. Police said they have no suspect, leads or witnesses.

8:35 p.m. Sunday — Emma L. Myers, 21, of Harrisville, was injured when her car and an Amish horse-drawn buggy collided at Route 208 at Old Mercer Road in Wilmington Township. Myers suffered an apparent minor injury. Police said the crash occurred when the buggy driver, Sam D. Byler, 18, of New Wilmington, failed to yield the right of way.The horse sustained unknown injuries and was taken to a veterinarian. No other information was available.
