7:19 p.m. Saturday — James L. Leonard, 36, of Butler was arrested on a bench warrant at Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street. Leonard was placed in the Butler County Prison.1:10 p.m. Saturday — Richard L. Spinneweber, 33, was arrested on a bench warrant after police were called for an argument at his apartment in the 500 block of South Main Street. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.4:25 p.m. Friday — A girl, who police did not identify, allegedly assaulted her mother during a domestic dispute at their home in the 400 block of West Cunningham Street. The child is accused of pushing her mother down, causing the woman to hit her head.The alleged victim complained of dizziness and she had a cut on her left hand,The girl was arrested and faces a charge of simple assault in juvenile court.3:27 p.m. Tuesday — Tasha E. Lutz, 23, of Forward Township was caught with suspected drugs at Pullman Square.Police were called to the shopping plaza after probation officers took Lutz's boyfriend into custody there. He was carrying a backpack that contained a bag. Lutz told authorities the bag belonged to her.Inside the bag police found a plastic baggie with 17 grams of suspected marijuana and an unlabeled pill bottle that contained suspected prescription stimulant capsules.Lutz faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.9:29 a.m. March 23 — A Clay Township man wanted on a warrant faces additional charges after he was found with suspected drugs and other contraband at Butler Memorial Hospital.Police arrested the suspect, Nathan A. Harvey, 33, on the warrant. Officers searched a bag he had at the hospital and turned up two pieces of a Suboxone strip, for which he did not have a prescription. Additionally, a syringe and other drug-related items were allegedly in the bag.Harvey, who was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Sunday — Police filed six tickets against Brandon J. Gurowski, 21, of Slippery Rock stemming from a March 14 one-car wreck in Worth Township.Gurowski lost control of his car on Cornelius Road west of Reichert Road and hit several trees. He fled the scene.Gurkowski was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, a lane violation, driving without a license, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, abandoning a vehicle on the road and not wearing a seat belt.10:19 p.m. Saturday — Michael J. Ritzert, 52, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs on Route 68 at the Oakland Township Elementary School,2 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Ray A. Heginbotham Jr., 44, of Karns City crashed into a ditch at Route 268 and Butternut Road in Fairview Township. He is accused of fleeing.Police cited Heginbotham for careless driving, a lane violation, failing to immediately notify police of an accident and failing to stop and render aid or give information after an accident.Saturday — A vandal punctured all four tires of a 17-year-old Butler boy's car parked at the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church on Frazier Road in Jefferson Township. Both side mirrors were also broken off and the passenger side front fender was damaged.The vandalism happened between 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.10:49 a.m. Thursday — Lindsay Mitchell Ritchey, 24, no address given, was caught allegedly under the influence of drugs while baby sitting a 2-year-old boy and 1-year-old girl at a home in the 400 block of South Main Street in Harrisville.The children's parents told police they returned home to find Ritchey high on drugs. Police believe she took unused prescription medication that she found at the home.Ritchey was placed in the Butler County Prison for a probation violation. She also faces charges of theft and child endangerment.Meanwhile, police remind the public to discard all unused prescription medication from their homes.
2:30 p.m. Thursday — Cecil Rodeheaver Jr., 82, of Ford City and two children were hurt when cars they were riding in collided on Route 66 in Bethel Township.The collision forced the car driven by Mary M. Ramsey, 76, of Ford City into a fire hydrant. The other car, driven by James A. Weaver, 49, of Apollo, struck a wooden sign and ended up in a yard.Rodeheaver, a passenger in Ramsey's car, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with moderate injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.Two girls in Weaver's car suffered minor injuries. One of the girls was taken to ACMH Hospital. Police did not identify the children.Ramsey was cited for making an improper left turn.Thursday — A vandal broke the driver's door of a bulldozer that was in a field along Winfield Road in North Buffalo Township. The equipment, owned by First Class Energy of Kittanning, had nearly $400 in damage. The vandalism happened between 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Friday — No one was hurt when a would-be burglar fired a shotgun at a home on Shaw Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.The unknown suspect tried to kick in the front door of the home. The move failed, and instead activated the burglar alarm. The suspect then fired a shot through a window.
