6:26 a.m. Friday — A 15-year-old girl apparently upset over being grounded ran away after she allegedly assaulted her mother during a domestic dispute at the family’s home on the 300 block of American Avenue.
Police did not identify the girl, who is accused of biting her mother on the right shoulder and scratching both of her hands according to a police report.
The teen left the home after the altercation and is listed as a runaway in the National Crime Information Center database, police said. She is charged with simple assault in Butler County juvenile court.
Nov. 27 — Police charged Doris Ann Ross, 57, of Butler Township with drugged driving stemming from an October one-vehicle crash in Butler Township and a near wreck with a parked vehicle on West New Castle Street.
A witness reportedly saw Ross’ sport utility vehicle hit a utility pole shortly after 10 p.m. Oct. 26, in the area of New Castle Road in Butler Township, according to court documents. The defendant did not stop.
City police spotted the suspect vehicle traveling east on West New Castle Street. When officers tried to stop the SUV, Ross swerved hard to the right and nearly struck a car parked on the side of the road.
Police said that while speaking to Ross she kept looking over to the passenger seat and talking. Upon being asked, she told police she was talking to her daughter. “I made her aware that her daughter was not in her vehicle,” according to the arresting officer’s affidavit.
Ross admitted having taken sleeping pills, but she didn’t know how many, police said. She was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.
Toxicology results subsequently showed she had several drugs in her system, including amphetamine, lorazepam, clonazepam, alprazolam, carisoprodol and meprobamate.
In addition to driving under the influence of drugs, she is charged with careless driving.

Nov. 28 — Wayne R. Johnson, 35, of Buffalo Township was charged with texting a threatening message to a woman in November at Jack’s Trailer Court on Park Drive
Johnson on Nov. 13 threatened to retaliate against the woman’s family and home, court documents said. The alleged threat followed the arrest earlier that evening of Paula Lowry, 51, who lives at the trailer park, on charges she stole the sport utility vehicle that was in Johnson’s possession.
He is charged with terroristic threats.
[naviga:h3]Butler Twp Police[/naviga:h3]
3:04 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Kellee Miles, 18, of Butler, rear-ended another vehicle on South Duffy Road at Route 356. Phyllis Turner, 54, of Butler was the other driver.
No one was injured but Miles’ vehicle had to be towed. Police cited the teenager for following too closely to another vehicle.
10:09 p.m. Nov. 28 — An elderly Armstrong County woman was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at Route 356 and North Duffy Road.
According to a police report, Naomi Deemer, 84, of Adrian failed to yield the right of way when making a turn onto North Duffy Road. Linda Bates, 63, of Butler was the other driver.
A Butler Ambulance Service crew treated Deemer at the scene for unspecified injuries. Butler Volunteer Fire District 3 also assisted. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Police cited Deemer for making an improper left turn.

Nov. 17 — An Allegheny County woman was charged with drugged driving in connection with a call in October for a possible overdose outside a Route 8 business.
Police said they found Chelsie R. Stewart, 25, of McKees Rocks about 10:55 a.m. Oct. 27 unresponsive in a car that was still running. An officer shut off the car, according to court documents, and checked her for a pulse. He noted he smelled burned marijuana in the vehicle.
Stewart eventually awakened and appeared “completely out of it,” the officer said in his affidavit. A medical crew checked her out but she refused hospital treatment.
Police took the defendant to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test, which confirmed her had marijuana in her system, documents said.
Stewart is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Nov. 28 — Mark A. Weatherford, 56, of Middlesex Township was charged with submitting a concealed carry license application Nov. 22 that included answers about his criminal record that were not truthful and were rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police.
Weatherford is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities

6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 — A Texas man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman in a travel camper on Herman Road in Summit Township.
Merton L. Seamon, 57, of Kountze is accused of grabbing Tonia Iverson by the hair and pulling her to the ground, court documents said. He then allegedly grabbed her by the throat and chased her in the camper as she tried to leave.
Seamon was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $7,500 bail following arraignment.
Nov. 28 — Michelle L. Klemm, 39, of Jefferson Township was charged with being more than twice the legal limit for alcohol stemming from a traffic stop Nov. 23 on Beacon Road. Police said they stopped her car about 2:10 a.m. after she ran a stop sign at Beacon and Meridian roads.
Klemm admitted that she had been drinking and acknowledged that she had not stopped at the stop sign, according to court documents. She was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
A breath test showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.184 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
She is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, disobeying traffic control devices and the stop sign violation.
Nov. 28 — Bob T. Dawson Alexander, 30, of Center Township was charged with being impaired on drugs and alcohol in connection with a traffic stop about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 12 in Center Township. Troopers pulled him over after they saw his pickup truck swerved into the oncoming lane on Route 308 near Stoney Run Road.
Police said when they got to the truck they noticed a glass jar containing suspected marijuana buds, according to court documents. Alexander subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.
Toxicology reports, documents said, showed he had marijuana in his system and his blood-alcohol level was 0.089 percent.
Dawson Alexander is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, possession of a small amount of marijuana, careless driving, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and two lighting violations.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Franklin[/naviga:h3]
1:33 p.m. Sunday — Four deer were blamed for a one-vehicle accident in Oakland Township, Venango County.
Police said Brenda L. Miller, 51, of Cranberry, Venango County struck one of the deer with the sport utility vehicle she was driving on Route 428 just north of Pump Station Road. But when she tried to avoid the others, her vehicle hit a tree.
Miller was hearing a seat belt and she was not injured.
