Wednesday — Jeremy Heintz, 22, of Gibsonia was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI controlled substance or metabolite, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving a vehicle without inspection from a traffic stop Jan. 28.
Wednesday — Elizabeth Yount, 26, of Pittsburgh and James Borland, 23, of Mars were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia from a traffic stop on Dec. 20. Yount and Borland were pulled over while driving on Route 228 for having a headlight and brake light out. During the stop, police allegedly confiscated 8 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe.

9:57 p.m. Wednesday — Rodney D. Rosen, 49, was arrested after he allegedly struck his girlfriend, Sharon Moore, with a golf club during a domestic dispute at their home in the 400 block of Miller Avenue.
Rosen is accused of hitting Moore in the back of head and on top of the left foot with the club, according to court documents.
When officers got there, the defendant claimed his girlfriend attacked him. But police noted in their complaint that Rosen was not injured.
Butler Fire Department paramedics, however, had to treat Moore at the scene for a cut to the back of her head.
Police found the suspected weapon, the golf club, on the kitchen floor.
Rosen was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail following his arraignment.
5:44 p.m. Wednesday — Benjamin S. Eakin, 35, was arrested after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend, Kimberly Schnur, during a domestic dispute at their apartment in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.
Schnur told police that Eakin punched her, tackled her to the ground and tried to strangle her, court documents said.
She recounted that the defendant placed one arm around her neck and began to choke her. He put his other hand over her mouth and nose “causing her to struggle to breathe, according to a police affidavit.
Officers noticed the woman had a bloody lip when they got there.
Eakin was arraigned on charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.
[naviga:h3]Cranberry Township Police[/naviga:h3]
Feb. 4 — Michael Mastellino, 25, of Pittsburgh was charged with DUI and DUI with a high rate of blood alcohol between 0.1 and 0.16 percent from an incident Dec. 20, 2015.
Feb. 4 — Joseph Vermeuleen, 27, of New Brighton was charged with misdemeanor theft by deception and misdemeanor receiving stolen property from an incident Jan. 20.
He allegedly tried to return stolen items to Walmart and did not have a receipt, police said.
Thursday — Tiffany Blystone, 24, of Mars was charged with DUI and failure to stop at a red signal after a traffic stop Jan. 11.
She allegedly was driving with a mix of drugs and alcohol in her system.
Thursday — George Daw, 52, of Slippery Rock was charged with misdemeanor statement under penalty.
Daw on April 4 allegedly attempted to purchase a Smith and Wesson 22 LR rifle from Field and Stream on Cranberry Square Drive.
Daw allegedly completed a form on which he wrote “no” to a question about past convictions, though the state’s background check showed that he had prior convictions, according to court records.
Thursday — Marcey Prokop, 24, of Freedom was charged with misdemeanor retail theft which allegedly occurred Feb. 2 at Wal Mart on Route 19.
Prokop allegedly stole $65.08 worth of merchandise by going through the self-checkout aisle and not scanning all her items.

Wednesday — Janet Machaterre, 50, of Mars was charged with DUI with a blood-alcohol level between 0.1 and 0.16 percent and DUI with a combination of drugs and alcohol from an incident Jan. 17.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
9:20 p.m. Saturday — Shane M. Snyder, 33, of Lyndora was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman at her home on Simpson Avenue in Chicora.
Police said Snyder went to 34-year-old Brandy L. Anthony’s home and refused to leave. While there, he allegedly pinned down Anthony, placed a pillow over her face and tore off her jacket, causing her arms to bruise, according to a police report.
Snyder, who is charged with simple assault and harassment, was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.
7:30 p.m. Saturday — Police said a woman, who they did not identify, was intoxicated when she crashed her car against a fence and got stuck in the snow along Route 38 in Center Township.
1:55 p.m. Saturday — An unknown driver did not stop after a two-vehicle wreck in Center Township. The crash happened when the suspected hit-and-run driver struck a vehicle parked on Willow Run Road.
12:02 p.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old West Sunbury girl was badly hurt when she lost control of her car while cresting a hill and crashed into a tree along Route 308 just north of Shanahan Road in Center Township.
The girl, who police did not identify, was conscious when emergency crews got there. Unionville firefighters had to remove the front passenger side door to get her out.
The rescue operation took about seven minutes, said Chief Nathan Wulff of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department.
Police said she was not wearing a seat belt. The driver’s side door took the brunt of the impact, leaving her with serious injuries, authorities said.
A Butler Ambulance Service crew treated the teen before taking her to Butler Memorial Hospital. She was later taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Her condition was not known this morning.
Police said they cited the girl for not wearing a seat belt.
5:57 a.m. Saturday — A snow-covered road was blamed for a one-vehicle wreck in Venango Township. The crash happened when Tiffany M. Kerns, 24, of Eau Claire lost control of her sport utility vehicle in Route 58 just west of Jamison Road and hit an embankment.
Saturday — An unknown thief stole a 37-year-old man’s Taurus revolver from a truck in the 300 block of North Main Street in Harrisville.
10:53 p.m. Friday — Marissa L. Montgomery, 29, of New Kensington, Westmoreland County, lost control of her SUV and overturned after sliding across the oncoming lane on Route 356 just north of Caldwell Drive in Jefferson Township.
Police cited Montgomery for driving with a suspended license and driving too fast for conditions.
9:30 a.m. Friday — Myrna Antonio-Hall, 67, of Slippery Rock was hurt when the SUV she was driving struck a street sign and embankment on Route 108 at Ashley Lane in Worth Township. Antonio-Hall, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
Police cited her for disregarding traffic lanes.
Wednesday — William R. Dingel III, 21, of East Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a New Year’s Day traffic stop in Butler.
A trooper initially started following Dingel after he threw a cigarette out the window. Police said they pulled him over on Dingham Road when he ran a stop sign.
The suspect failed field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test given at the scene indicated he had alcohol in his system, according to court documents. Later, a breath test at the barracks showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.125 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Tuesday — Police charged Lisa M. Codispot, 25, of Butler Township with drunken driving in connection with a 2:58 a.m. Jan. 26 traffic stop on Hansen Avenue near Whitestown Road in Butler.
Codispot, who appeared impaired, was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.
Toxicology reports later showed she had the antianxiety medication clonazepam and marijuana. Additionally, her blood-alcohol level was 0.034 percent.
Codispot is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Franklin[/naviga:h3]
12:15 p.m. Saturday — James D. Kinek, 56, of Macungie, Lehigh County, lost control of his car and slid into the back of another vehicle on Interstate 80 in Irwin Township. The other driver did not stop after the accident.
The Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
9:30 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Patrick T. Doyle, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y., slid on the snow and struck a guardrail on I-80 just east of Irwin Township. Police cited Doyle for driving too fast for conditions.

10:30 a.m. Saturday — One person was seriously injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes when a tractor-trailer driven by John Curtin, 64, of Stanhope, N.J., rear-ended a vehicle driven by Richard P. Wolfgang, 73, of DuBois, Clearfield Township.
The rig continued eastbound and hit another vehicle driven by Aaron W. Hunsinger, 34, of Meadville.
Wolfgang was taken to Grove City Medical Center before being flown by medical helicopter to an unspecified Pittsburgh hospital with injuries that police described as “severe.” His condition was not known this morning.
Police said all three drivers and a passenger in Wolfgang’s vehicle were wearing seat belts. Curtin was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
10:30 a.m. Saturday — A Michigan teenager lost control of her car on snow-covered I-80 in Wolf Creek Township and struck an embankment. The driver, Sarah E. Schultz, 18, of Sterling Heights, was not hurt.
6:25 p.m. Tuesday — Melissa D. Zahniser, 41, of Sharpsville, Mercer County, was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly tried to take various unidentified items from the County Market on Pine Grove Square in Grove City.
In checking her purse, police allegedly found drug paraphernalia.

Sunday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of several thousands of dollars from a home in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, during a burglary in December. The money belongs to a 37-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, man.
Police said they have no suspects in the Dec. 22 break-in.
