Butler Police9:55 a.m. Wednesday — Colin S. Kelly, 35, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly entered his mother's home, without her permission, and caused a disturbance. He is being held in the Butler County Prison on a felony charge of trespass.The alleged victim, Victoria Kelly, told police that after her son showed up at her home in the 200 block of West Pearl Street, he lit a candle and waved it around “in an aggressive manner,” according to court documents.When police got to the home, Kelly ran downstairs to the basement and tried to get out the door. He continued to struggle with officers after they pulled him to the ground, documents said.In addition to trespass, Kelly is charged with resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Butler Twp. PoliceThursday — Police charged Kayla M. Lorenzini, 20, of Butler in connection with the theft of prescription pills last year. The investigation began May 5 when police were called for an unresponsive woman at the Plant Fitness gym at Alameda Plaza on New Castle Road.An officer found Lorenzini as well as two stolen pills in her purse. The pills were mexiletine hydrochloride, a drug used to treat irregular heartbeats; and ondansetron hydrochloride, which is used to treat nausea.Lorenzini is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct.7:50 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Stephanie Foster, 51, of Renfrew pulled out in front of another vehicle, causing a collision on New Castle Road near Bill's Beer Barn.Police cited Foster for failing to yield the right of way, driving without insurance and failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident. Amy Stenman, 38, of Butler was the other driver.2:02 p.m. Jan. 15 — A 13-year-old student punched another student at the Butler Intermediate High School. The suspect, a Butler boy, is charged with harassment. The alleged victim, also a 13-year-old Butler boy, was not injured.

State Police, Butler8:07 p.m. Wednesday — An Armstrong County woman was arrested for drugged driving and her passenger was nabbed with 12 bags of suspected heroin following a traffic stop on Route 28 at exit 17 in Buffalo Township.Police did not identify the 32-year old driver from Adrian or the passenger, a 44-year-old man from Rimersburg, Clarion County, who also was arrested on a warrant out of Clarion County. Charges are pending against both suspects.Tuesday — Simon J. Miller, 29, of Fenelton was charged with drugged driving stemming from a Nov. 20 traffic stop in Summit Township. Police stopped Miller about 7:30 p.m. after a patrol trooper spotted his car cross the center line on Herman Road and nearly cause a head-on collision.Miller confirmed the trooper's suspicions when he admitted he had consumed four to five beers and “smoked a bowl of marijuana,” according to court documents. After he was arrested, he also acknowledged having taken several prescription painkillers.Police took the suspect to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which later showed he had morphine in his system, documents said.Additionally, the criminal complaint noted that while Miller was driving, he was texting his girlfriend.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, disregarding traffic lanes, texting while driving and careless driving.Tuesday — Police charged Johnathan C. Faith, 24, of Boyers in connection with a drunken driving crash Dec. 20 in Venango Township.Faith was impaired about 4:15 a.m. when he lost control of his car in the 300 block of Cemetery Road, hitting an embankment and three parked vehicles in a home's driveway, according to court documents.The defendant claimed his car “slipped on ice” while traveling around a curve, a police affidavit said. The investigating trooper, however, noted his investigation found no ice on the road. The officer also said he smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol on the suspect's breath.Faith failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the barracks for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.109 percent, documents said. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, he is charged with failing to keep right, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.Tuesday — Joshua D. Williams, 26, of Lyndora was charged with being more than double the state's limit for alcohol and speeding last Fourth of July when he was pulled over in Chicora.Police said they stopped Williams' pickup truck about 4:15 a.m. on Kittanning Street after clocking it going 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. The trooper smelled alcohol and suspected the defendant was impaired.Williams admitted he had been at a bachelor party that night and had consumed alcohol, according to court documents. He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. A breath test subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.171 percent.He is charged with DUI, speeding, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

State Police, New Castle8:30 a.m. Thursday — A 43-year-old woman was hurt in a one-vehicle wreck in Plain Grove Township. Jennifer J. Spencer of Volant lost control of her car on snow-covered Brent Road and crashed into a ditch and concrete culvert.Spencer, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions. The Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
