11:33 p.m. Saturday — St. Clair A. Moriniere III, 50, was arrested after he allegedly struck his girlfriend’s hand during a domestic dispute at his apartment on the 300 block of West Diamond Street.
The woman told police that Moriniere “smacked a cigarette out of her hand while striking her hand,” according to court documents. She suffered bruising on the hand.
The defendant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and he was later released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

1:32 p.m. Saturday — No injuries were reported when Lauren D. Lee, 65, of Butler, pulled out from a stop sign at Arch Street and collided with a vehicle driven by Sandra Meier, 69, of Butler, on Belmont Road. Lee’s vehicle had to be towed. She was cited for a stop sign violation.

6:26 p.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Clint McCandless, 37, of Butler, struck a deer on Fisher Road just south of Hannahstown Road in Jefferson Township. A police report said McCandless may have suffered an injury. He apparently did not required medical treatment.
9:30 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Donald E. Rothwell, 52, of Kittanning, struck a deer on Interstate 79 north in Lancaster Township. He was not injured.
8:20 p.m. Friday — A large, flat-screen LG television was reportedly found by a man in the back of his truck at the JM Beatty Furniture & Mattress store on Route 38 in Washington. The TV was dropped off at the barracks in Butler Township.
6:39 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Kevin J. Bacon, 32, of Butler, struck a mailbox on Great Belt Road just north of Equine Lane in Jefferson Township. He was not hurt but his car had to be towed. Police cited him for disregarding traffic lanes.
6:59 p.m. May 26 — Isaac W. Peoples, 19, of Slippery Rock, lost control of his minivan and struck a traffic sign, ditch and landscaping on Currie Road in Worth Township. He was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed.
Police cited Peoples for driving without insurance and without valid inspection, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
May 20 — Police charged an Armstrong County man with illegally trying to a buy a rifle earlier this year at a Summit Township gun store.
Kenneth McCullough, 46, of Ford City, is accused of providing false information on a background check form that was required Feb. 11 when he attempted to buy a .22-caliber rifle at Sportsman’s Supply Co., according to court documents.
Police said that when his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, he was denied the purchase. He is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.
8:35 p.m. May 19 — Bo B. Murray, 35, of Petrolia, is charged with having a marijuana pipe after he was pulled over for a traffic violation on Main Street in Fairview. Police said he screamed obscenities after being stopped.
In addition to possession of drug paraphernalia, he is charged with disorderly conduct, driving with an open container of alcohol, a learner’s permit violation, driving with a burned out headlight and a seat belt violation.
May 19 — Ted E. Divers, 35, of Oakland Township, was charged with having two stamp bags of suspected heroin in connection with an incident in January at a convenience store parking lot in Center Township. He is charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.
8:30 p.m. May 15 — Michael P. Alinskas, 42, of West Sunbury, allegedly swiped two 24-ounce cans of beer at the Sheetz store on Route 8 in Center Township. He is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.
5 a.m. May 7 — An SUV driven by Tyler J. Johnson, of Cranberry Township, struck a railing on a bridge on Sandy Lane in Forward Township. He was not hurt, but the vehicle had to be towed. Police cited Johnson for disregarding traffic lanes.
