1:57 p.m. Tuesday — A Smith & Wesson .40-caliber pistol was reported stolen from a home on Second Street. The owner, a 29-year-old man, did not know when the gun was taken.

[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]

Thursday — Adam L. McCardle, 30, of Grove City allegedly threw a rock through the back window of a vehicle belonging to Krista Crytser in the 200 block of East Pine St. Damage was estimated at about $290. McCardle is charged with criminal mischief.

Nov. 10 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Virginia Palmer, 82, of Grove City crashed into another vehicle at North Center and Erie streets. Police cited Palmer for a stop sign violation. John Frey, 52, of Grove City was the other driver.

7:04 a.m. Sunday — A Slippery Rock woman was hurt when she lost control of her car and rolled over into the median on snow-covered Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Meredith L. McIntire, 26, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.

Police cited McIntire for driving at an unsafe speed.

Sunday — A burglar broke into a home on St. Joe Road in Clay Township and stole the 64-year-old owner’s pickup truck that was in the driveway. Police have no suspects in the break-in and theft that happened between 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

The pickup is described as a red, 2002 Dodge Dakota extended cab model with the Pennsylvania license plate YSA8153. On the back of the truck were bumper stickers that read “Impeach Obama“ and “NRA.” Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

9:35 p.m. Saturday — Gerald L. Critten, 45, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car ran out of gas on I-79 in Lancaster Township.

5:45 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Ethan E. Rochow, 26, of West Middlesex, Mercer County, struck a deer on Route 8 just north of South Benbrook Road in Center Township.

12:34 a.m. Thursday — Delmas Hayes III, 21, of Butler was allegedly caught with drug contraband following a suspected hit-and-run crash on South Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said Hayes faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 4 — Multiple golf cart batteries were stolen from the Slippery Rock Campground on West Park Road in Worth Township.

Noon Nov. 2 — An unknown shoplifter stole a DeWalt tool set valued at $250 from the Rural King store at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

3:28 p.m. Nov. 1 — A drug user who suffered an apparent overdose turned over narcotics to a medical crew while being taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.

The suspect, who authorities did not identify, will not be charged due to the state’s Good Samaritan law, according to a police report. The allows anyone to call emergency services during an overdose without fear of being prosecuted for drug or paraphernalia possession when police are notified.

Oct. 30 — About $10,000 worth of insulated copper wire was stolen from Nabors Drilling in Muddy Creek Township. The wire was taken Oct. 29 or 30.

5:04 a.m. Sunday — A Jefferson County man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 80 in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

The suspect, Nicholas J. Bogacki, 24, of Reynoldsville, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury. He was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment and for a blood draw. Police said a DUI charge is pending toxicology results.

The Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department and Emlenton Ambulance assisted police at the scene.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Franklin[/naviga:h3]

5:50 a.m. Sunday — Lacey M. Sampson, 21, of Franklin was hurt when she lost control of her car and struck an embankment on snow- and slush-covered Meadville Pike in Sugarcreek.

Sampson, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Northwest hospital in Seneca with minor injuries. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions and driving a vehicle with faulty tires.

2:03 a.m. Sunday — An unknown driver of a tractor-trailer did not stop after the trailer struck the side of a sport utility vehicle on Interstate 80 in Barkeyville. The rig was passing the SUV at the time of the collision. John L. Edwards, 53, of the Bronx, N.Y., was driving the SUV.

4:35 p.m. Saturday — A North Carolina trucker’s rig wrecked when the trailer buckled in the middle on I-80 at the exit 42 on-ramp in Scrubgrass Township. Christopher Evans, 47, of Fayetteville, was not hurt but his rig had to be towed.

The accident temporarily closed the ramp to eastbound traffic until the trailer could be removed.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

2:59 a.m. Nov. 12 — Joshua X. Cotto, 30, of Butler was allegedly caught with suspected drug contraband following a traffic stop on Butler Road in West Kittanning. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without working headlights.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

7:40 a.m. Sunday — Snow and ice on the road was blamed for a two-vehicle wreck that left one person injured in Liberty Township, Mercer County.

The crash happened when Hannah N. Stoessner, 19, of Tallmadge, Ohio, lost control of her sport utility vehicle on Route 258 and slid sideways, colliding with an oncoming car driven by Hope L. Hamilton, 57, of Transfer.

Hamilton, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered an apparent minor injury.

[naviga:h3]State Police, New Castle[/naviga:h3]

Oct. 15 — A Butler Township woman’s property valued at $6,740 was stolen from a home and garage in the 4200 block of Harlansburg Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The break-in happened between Sept. 24 and Oct. 15.

A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-589-2211.
