Butler Police10:13 a.m. Monday — Ronald L. Tejchman, 32, no known address, was arrested on charges he gave police a phony name when they found him intoxicated in the Clay Hills area off South Monroe Street. Police also learned Tejchman was wanted on a bench warrant.He was arraigned on charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities and public drunkenness, and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail. He also is held on the warrant.2:50 a.m. Saturday — Donte A. Brandon, 20, was arrested on charges he assaulted and pointed a gun at his girlfriend, Krystle Anderson, during a domestic dispute at their apartment on Spring Street.Anderson told police that after she and Brandon got into an argument, she tried to leave the apartment. But Brandon grabbed her, dragged her back into the home and threw her to the floor.He prevented her from leaving a second time, and again threw her down. This time, Brandon is accused of getting a shotgun and pointing it at Anderson’s face and threatening to kill her. Officers later recovered the gun in the suspect’s bedroom.Police said Anderson suffered minor injuries, including scratches and bruises, in the altercation.Brandon was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.10:42 p.m. Wednesday — A Somerset County man was arrested after police caught him allegedly impaired by alcohol and with drug contraband. Police said they found the suspect, 32-year-old Jeffrey J. Sopich of Gray, with six empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a syringe.Sopich was taken to the police station and placed in the holding cell until he was sober. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.,b>Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Police cited Ryan D. Koegler, 31, of Butler in connection with a hit-and-run accident last month on Whippo Avenue. He is accused of crashing his car into a parked sport utility vehicle and not stopping.Koegler is charged with hit-and-run and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.12:45 a.m. Monday — Steven J. Riley, 38, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in her face during a domestic dispute on Alameda Road. The woman suffered minor injuries.Riley was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness, and later placed in Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail11:20 p.m. Sunday — Dustin J. Abbott, 26, of Philadelphia, Miss., was arrested following an incident at Looney Toones Tavern on New Castle Road. He was arraigned on charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.Abbott was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.7:50 a.m. Saturday — Shannon Sims, 20, of Butler lost control of her car and struck a fire hydrant at Route 8 and Ann Arbor Lane. Sims was not hurt but the hydrant was badly damaged.Police said a Pennsylvania America Water crew was called in to shut off the water supply while a tow truck removed Sims’ vehicle.

Grove City Police5:10 p.m. Sunday — Green and yellow paint was dumped in the parking lot at 315 Park St. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

Butler County Drug Task Force1:11 a.m. Tuesday — Qaasim T. Berry, 18, of Philadelphia was arrested on a felony warrant for suspected drug trafficking in Butler in July. Butler police nabbed Berry after responding to a medical call on the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.The drug task force on Tuesday obtained the warrant in connection with an alleged drug deal July 7 on West New Castle Street. Berry is accused of selling 12 stamp bags of heroin to a police informant for $100, court documents said.The defendant also is accused of giving Butler police a bogus name when they arrested him. The state police Livescan fingerprinting system eventually identified Berry.Livescan electronically scans a person’s hand to create prints. It also instantly sends the prints to other agencies, such as the FBI, and can quickly access criminal histories based on fingerprints.Berry was arraigned on charges in separate cases filed by the task force and city police. He is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in the task force case.In the police case, he is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities.Berry was placed in Butler County Prison on combined $5,000 bail following arraignment.

State Police, ButlerAug. 17 — A thief stole a cell phone, valued at $750, that was delivered between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to a 67-year-old man’s home on Muddy Creek Township Drive in West Liberty. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
