7:26 p.m. Thursday — Stephen C. Lingenfelter, 32, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle traveled across the median while northbound on Route 8 south and hit another vehicle.Lingenfelter told police that he lost control of his vehicle on black ice near the Pittsburgh Road intersection. An accident report was not completed and the name of the other driver was unavailable.Police said they took Lingenfelter to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending lab results.

Thursday — Kayla M. Wade, 25, of Sarver was charged with shoplifting 62 items last month at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Police said she was caught about 7:35 p.m. Jan. 9 taking the merchandise, valued at $103.54.Wade is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft and defiant trespass.Wednesday — Rachel A. Seminatore, 31, of Slippery Rock was charged in connection with a hit-and-run accident last month on Mercer Road. Police said she struck a vehicle driven by Donna Schaffner, 55, of Butler.In addition to hit-and-run, Seminatore is charged with careless driving, failing to keep right, improperly approaching an intersection and disregarding traffic lanes.

10:45 a.m. Wednesday — Michael E. Williams, 26, of Rural Valley, Armstrong County, lost control of his car on slush-covered Route 28 north and fishtailed into a guardrail one-half mile north of Exit 17 in Buffalo Township.Police said he faces a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.Tuesday — Police charged Thomas R. Drennen, 69, of Slippery Rock with being more than 2½ times more than the state's legal limit for alcohol Jan. 14 when he crashed his pickup truck into a tree at Stoughton Road and Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township.Troopers at the time noticed Drennen was swaying and leaning against his truck. They also noted the road to be icy. He admitted having six beers while at a friend's house, according to court documents.He subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.209 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Tuesday — A Luzerne County man was charged with DUI in connection with a traffic stop last month in Slippery Rock. Police said they pulled over Scott M. Bean, 22, of Harveys Lake Jan. 22 after they saw his sport utility vehicle cross over the white fog line and double yellow line on South Main Street.Bean showed impairment during field sobriety testing, according to court documents, and he admitted to having consumed alcohol before driving.A breath test at the barracks showed his blood blood-alcohol level was 0.165 percent.In addition to DUI, Bean is charged with failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Tuesday — A Bedford County man was charged with drugged driving stemming from a reported overdose last fall at the Pilot Travel Center on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township.Employees called for police shortly before 9 a.m. Nov. 13 after the defendant, Christopher J. Levine, 26, of New Bedford passed out in the store near the front doors, according to court documents.One employee performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until paramedics for Portersville-Muddy Creek EMS arrived and took over treatment.A trooper later spoke with the defendant in the ambulance. “The defendant related that he has been going through some tough times and hasn't slept in several days,” a police affidavit said.He acknowledged that he had driven to the store. He also admitted having an alcoholic beverage about four hours earlier but he denied consuming any drugs.Levine was taken for medical treatment to Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He also agreed to a blood test. Toxicology reports subsequently showed he had a metabolite for cocaine in his system, documents said, as well as a blood-alcohol level of 0.023 percent.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving an unregistered vehicle, careless driving and illegal use of a license plate.
