1:30 p.m. Nov. 14 — Heather Ann Kuhrt, 33, of Butler was caught with suspected heroin and other drug contraband after police were called for a report of a woman passed out on East Walnut Street near Rattigan Street.

Police said when they found Kuhrt, according to court documents, she was conscious but appeared to be impaired. When told why police were called, she became “irate and began yelling obscenities.”

She was arrested for public intoxication and taken to the police station.

A search of her purse turned up two stamp bags and one empty bag of suspected heroin, documents said, as well as two drug-smoking pipes, two used syringes and a melt spoon with what appeared to be drug residue.

Kuhrt is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

5:29 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Lisa M. Sipusic, 38, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.

8:45 a.m. Saturday — An elderly wrong-way driver, described by police as confused, was blamed for an accident in Cranberry Township.

Police said Bernadette A. Lokhaiser, 77, of Renfrew entered the northbound lanes on I-79 in a car and traveled in a southern direction. At one point, another driver, Ronald J. Ferguson, 51, of Carnegie, Allegheny County had to swerve his pickup truck and struck a guardrail.

Lokhaiser continued on the wrong side of the highway for three miles until troopers were able to stop her, according to a police report.

Police cited her for a careless driving, reckless driving, a lane violation and a lighting violation.

Thursday — Police charged Joel L. McKissick Jr., 28, with assaulting a 25-year-old Cabot woman earlier this month at his home on the 2800 block of Old Route 422 east in Clearfield Township.

McKissick is accused of punching Breanne Stuebgen in the face about 3 a.m. Nov. 11. Police said he also pulled out “a chunk of her hair” and pushed her into a wall, according to court documents.

Stuebgen was treated for her injuries at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township. She went to the police barracks in Butler Township on Nov. 12 and reported what happened.

She told police that McKissick and another “female family member” had gotten into a dispute when she tried “to get (the defendant) away from the female,” she said he attacked her.

Police described Stuebgen’s injuries as a “very bruised” and swollen left eye. She also had bruised ribs and was missing a clump of hair.

McKissick is charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Thursday — Samuel J. King, 22, of Adams Township was charged with drunken driving in connection with an August traffic stop in Forward Township. Police said they stopped him about 12:15 a.m. Aug. 1 for crossing the yellow center line and white fog lines on Browndale Road near Critchlow School Road.

King admitted that he had been drinking alcohol earlier that night, according to court documents. He failed field sobriety testing and was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.099 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

King is charged with driving under the influence, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

Nov. 13 — A 20-year-old Lawrence County man was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Center Township. Police said Gino T. Defeo of New Wilmington was stopped about 10 p.m. Oct. 7 for erratic driving and speeding on Route 8.

Defeo, who admitted to smoking marijuana before driving, was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.

Toxicology tests subsequently confirmed he had marijuana in his system, according to court documents.

In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Defeo is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and speeding.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

7:35 p.m. Sunday — A 33-year-old Chicora woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township. Police, who did not identify the woman, said that charges are pending lab results.

6 p.m. Saturday — Keith K. Pyle, 40, of Kittanning allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at a home in East Franklin Township.

Pyle is accused of punching 33-year-old Kristy L. Lloyd of Kittanning in the face, throwing her to the ground and kicking her at a home on Fifth Street according to a police report.

Police said they charged Pyle with simple assault and harassment.

4:45 p.m. Saturday — Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in East Franklin Township. The crash happened when a car driven by Calistra L. Hadden, 18, of Kittanning and a sport utility vehicle driven by Melissa A. Davis, 44, of Cowansville collided on Route 268.

Hadden was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin with unknown injuries. Davis and one of her passengers, Chelsea M. Davis, 18, of Cowansville, suffered apparent minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.

5:41 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Paul W. Schmidt, 26, of Sarver was rear-ended in stop-and-go-traffic on Route 28 south about one-quarter mile north of the Highland Park Bridge in Aspinwall, Allegheny County.

Police did not identify the other driver, a 17-year-old girl from Cheswick, Allegheny County, who was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.
