An officer knocked on the window to awaken Whipkey. When she opened the driver’s door, police noticed a stamp bag of suspected heroin in the door and a syringe in the center console. She told police the items did not belong to her and that she was tired, documents said.

The video showed the pair checking the doors on several vehicles parked on the side of the street before they entered the victim’s unlocked SUV and rummaged through it for about a minute.
