7:05 p.m. Saturday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at East Cunningham and South McKean streets. A police report was not immediately completed and the names of the occupants were not available.
Butler firefighters had to use a hydraulic rescue tools to free one of the drivers from the wreckage. Butler Ambulance Service took the injured driver to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Friday — Gino Ficca, 17, of Butler was hurt when he lost control of his vehicle and struck an embankment and large tree along Crisswell Road.
Ficca suffered minor injuries. His vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and had to be towed. Police said the teen was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
1:21 p.m. Thursday — Tina M. Budner, 47, of Cabot was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $19.86 worth of merchandise at the Moraine Pointe Plaza Giant Eagle store.
Budner, who has five prior shoplifting convictions, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
Wednesday — Brock T. Maihle, 29, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from an Aug. 20 motorcycle crash on the Route 8 north exit ramp from Route 422 west. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
Police later obtained lab results from a blood draw that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.148 percent, court documents said. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Maihle is charged with driving under the influence, driving at an unsafe speed, failing to wear required headgear and eye protection and eye protection on a motorcycle, driving without proper license and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]
Sept. 5 — Police charged a Northampton County teenager with having marijuana last month at her apartment on the Slippery Rock University campus.
A call about 10:35 p.m. Aug. 31 for an odor of marijuana sent police to the teen’s dormitory. Karner admitted that she been smoking marijuana before the call, according to court documents.
A consent search turned up a glass jar with suspected marijuana and a marijuana jar. Karner is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
7:34 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Todd M. Reasbeck, 28, of Wheeling, W.Va., and a sport utility vehicle driven by Daniel A. Rodgers, 29, of York, Pa., collided on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.
No injuries were reported. Police cited Reasbeck for driving at an unsafe speed.
8:23 a.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Brady Township.
The crash happened when a car driven by Katie E. Custer, 21, of Slippery Rock and an SUV driven by Robert Girovsky, 56, of McKeesport, Allegheny County, collided at Route 8 and Duffy Road.
Custer, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Girovsky’s passenger, Jodi M. Girovsky, 50, of McKeesport, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department and Slippery Rock Ambulance assisted police.
Custer was cited for disobeying traffic control devices.
Wednesday — Dalton L. Moyer, 20, of Karns City was charged with drunken driving in connection with a one-vehicle wreck shortly before 7 a.m. Aug. 19 on the 800 block of Hooker Road in Concord Township.
Police said Chicora Ambulance paramedics were tending to Moyer when they got there. The defendant admitted that he had been drinking beer at a friend’s house before the crash, according to court documents. He claimed he didn’t recall what happened.
“Moyer related that he woke up face down in the grass median outside his vehicle,” a police affidavit said.
A blood test at Butler Memorial Hospital subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.10 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Moyer is charged with driving under the influence, underage drinking, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.
Wednesday — Calvin G. Born, 71, of Hilliard was charged with DUI in connection with a May traffic stop on Route 38 in Concord Township. Police said they pulled him over about 7:50 p.m. May 28 for not having working rear lights.
Born, who could not physically perform field sobriety, was eventually taken to the barracks in Butler Township for a breath test that indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.32 percent, court documents said.
He is charged with DUI, careless driving and a lighting violation.
Wednesday — Police charged Bryan J. Fry, 23, of Concord Township with DUI stemming from a traffic stop last month in Summit Township. Moments before stopping Fry about 3 a.m. Aug. 21, a trooper first saw the defendant abruptly stop his car at a red light in neighboring Butler Township.
The officer followed Fry into Summit Township and clocked him going 10 mph over the 35 mph speed limit. The defendant was stopped on Route 356 in the parking lot at Sportsman’s Supply.
Fry appeared impaired and he acknowledged having smoked marijuana, according to court documents. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
A search of his car turned up a baggie of suspected marijuana as well as a marijuana pipe and other drug contraband, documents said.
Fry was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that subsequently showed he had marijuana in his system.
He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, speeding, driving without insurance and careless driving.
Sept. 5 — A Pittsburgh man was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police said they stopped Tevon J. Howard, 25, about 7:20 p.m. Aug. 16 for traveling 88 mph in a 70 mph zone.
Police said they smelled marijuana coming from Howard’s car, according to court documents, and he admitted smoking the drug “about 30 minutes ago.” He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
A marijuana grinder and rolling papers were found during a search of the vehicle. Howard was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which confirmed he had marijuana in his system.
In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, he is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and speeding.
9:37 p.m. Sept. 1 — David H. Kennedy, 31, of Mercer, Pa., was found with a marijuana pipe following a traffic stop in Slippery Rock. He was a passenger in the vehicle. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
State Police, Punxsutawney
Friday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the Chestnut Street Inn in Butler for violating the state liquor law by allegedly selling alcohol after its license expired.
The alleged violation occurred between July 1 and 23. An administrative law judge will hear the case.
