Butler Police8:57 a.m. Friday — Jason R. Stine, 36, who is homeless, was arrested after he allegedly broke into a duplex on the 100 block of West Pearl Street where an ex-girlfriend’s lives.The property owner, Robert Isovitsch, notified police of the burglary in progress. He also reported that the suspect, a man wearing a red jacket, was running from the home.An officer spotted the suspect running on West Penn Street, through an alley and onto North Chestnut Street. Police stopped that alleged burglar, who was identified as Stine. A pat-down search turned up two syringes.Police went to the home, a duplex, and found Stine’s former girlfriend living in one half. The front doors of the apartment on the other side, were kicked in. Damage was estimated $100.Stine was arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail following arraignment.
Butler Twp Police1:22 a.m. Saturday — Cristian J. Coy, 22, of Butler was arrested driving a stolen sport utility vehicle on Route 68. The arrest followed a traffic stop after police checked the license plate on the Buick Rainer that Coy was driving and learned that it was stolen out of Sharon, Mercer County.Coy was arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspected license and driving with a suspended vehicle registration. She is free on her own recognizance.Police said Coy’s passenger, Raymond C. Robinson Jr., 19, of Butler, had a suspected blackjack. Robinson is charged with possession on a prohibited offensive weapon.4 p.m. Saturday — Joseph J. Hunt, 30, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, was caught allegedly failing to pay for $407 in merchandise while using a self-checkout register at the Butler Commons Walmart. Hunt is charged with retail theft.11:56 p.m. Friday — Mark A. Dellen II, 26, of Butler was arrested after an altercation at the Belmont II bar at Bon Aire Plaza on Route 8 north.Officers found Dellen after being called to the bar for an intoxicated man who would not leave. The suspect struggled with police when they tried to place him in handcuffs.Dellen is charged with resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.10:46 a.m. Friday — Leah C. McGee, 25, of Cabot is accused of punching another customer in the face during an argument at Planet Fitness, Alameda Plaza. The alleged victim, a 22-year-old Butler woman, suffered minor injuries. McGee is charged with simple assault and harassment.2:04 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Elizabeth J. Ragan, 66, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on New Castle Road in front of VA Butler Healthcare. The collision pushed the other vehicle, driven by Wesley Frank, 52, of Butler into the back of vehicle driven by Arlene Martin, 65, of Kittanning. Police cited Ragan for driving at an unsafe speed.7:21 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Ashley M. Sutton, 27, of Boyers struck a vehicle, driven by Kaylyn Szymanski, 28, of Ford City, Armstrong County, on Route 8 south near McCalmont Road. In turn, Szymanski’s vehicle was vehicle was pushed in a truck driven by Brent Campbell. Sutton was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and driving without a valid inspection.2:54 p.m. Thursday — A 15-year-old Butler girl struck a 14-year-old Butler girl at Butler Intermediate School, where both attend classes. Police cited the older girl with disorderly conduct and harassment.
State Police, ButlerMonday — Police say they have a suspect — a girl — in last month’s theft of a handgun from a home in Bruin. Along with the Smith & Wesson .38-special revolver, the girl, who police did not identify, took other unspecified items from the home on School Street. The theft happened between Nov. 24 and 28 when the woman who lives there was in the hospital.
State Police, KittanningSaturday — A thief stole an unspecified number of traffic signs at Glade Run Road and Route 422 in East Franklin Township. The signs, owned by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, were taken between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is to call 724-543-2011.
