May 15 — A Slippery Rock University student was charged with having suspected marijuana and other contraband in his room at Rhoads Hall. Police said they were called to the student housing complex May 12 for a possible drug violation.

The suspect, Brenden I. Lafferty, 20, of Altoona, Blair County, allowed police into the room, where officers smelled what they believed was marijuana, according to court documents.

Police said Lafferty handed over a marijuana pipe but denied he had any other contraband in the room. But during a consent search, police said they found a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana, a marijuana grinder, two unopened cans of an alcohol drink and an open bottle of vodka.

Lafferty is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol by a minor.

The vehicle rolled over “multiple times,” according to a police report, leaving Fisher with apparent minor injuries.

He was treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was wearing a seat belt.

Police cited Fisher for disregarding traffic lanes, driving without insurance and driving with worn tires.

Wednesday — Hunter J. Romito, 18, of West Sunbury was charged with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle wreck last month in Fairview Township. The crash happened about 1:10 a.m. April 23 on Route 268 just south of Baker Lane.

10:45 a.m. Sunday — John H. Montgomery III, 27, was arrested after he allegedly interfered with police searching for a wanted person at his home in the 200 block of Chicora Road in Oakland Township.

Troopers, at the request of Butler police, went to Montgomery’s house looking for the wanted man, who apparently was not there. Montgomery, who was at home with his girlfriend, became “extremely aggressive,” court documents said, with police and told them to “get the (expletive) out of his house.”

He repeatedly refused to show his identification after troopers advised him they were there on “an official police investigation.”

He again “acted aggressively,” according to a police affidavit, and was arrested, but not before troopers took him to the floor.

Montgomery was arraigned on a charge of obstructing the administration of law or other government function. He was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

She told police that Fleischer grabbed her by the shirt and pushed her backward into a guitar amplifier.

The defendant is also accused of throwing a pizza box at Davidson while she was feeding her daughter, according to court documents, and hitting her in the back of head and on the right leg.

Troopers were called after she went to a neighbor’s house, following the alleged assault. Police described her injuries as red marks and bruising on her back, a large bruise on her right leg and a small cut on her nose.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton on Friday issued an arrest warrant for Fleischer on charges of simple assault and harassment.

The victim, who authorities did not identify, suffered a split lip in the suspected assault, according to court documents.

During the investigation, police spoke to two witnesses — one who saw the alleged assault in the bathroom, and the other that saw the boy’s bleeding lip afterward.

Wilkins, on the advise of his attorney, declined to give a statement to police. He was later arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.126 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Steiner is charged with DUI, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right and careless driving.
