4:41 p.m. Sunday — James L. Musser III, 33, of Butler Township was arrested after he allegedly stole a metal cash box from a business during the Rodfather's Car Cruise in downtown.Musser is accused of stealing the cash box from the Relentless Pursuit tattoo parlor on North Main Street. The suspect took off running with the box, which contained $35.Police later found Musser, who matched the description of the thief, on West Cunningham Street at Washington Street, according to court documents. He denied wrongdoing. Witnesses, however, later identified him as the thief.He was arraigned on a charge of theft, and released on his own recognizance.8 p.m. June 15 — A car driven by Derek A. Brown, 41, of Butler struck three parked vehicles on the side of North Monroe Street near East Brady Street.Brown told police that the crash happened when he had to move over for another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Eva Brown, 6, of Butler, a passenger in the car who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Police cited Brown for careless driving.

10:14 p.m. Saturday — Austin C. Miller, 19, of Butler ended up with three tickets following a traffic stop on New Castle Road near Walgreen's. Police suspected the teen had recently consumed alcohol when he was stopped.Miller is charged with driving with a suspended license, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, and underage drinking.

Monday — Christian B. Knauss, 26, of Butler Township was arrested on charges he illegally tried to buy a pistol from a Washington Township gun store earlier this year.Police allege Knauss lied on his application Jan. 27 to buy the firearm at Logan's Gun Gallery on North Washington Road.In completing a federal form required to buy the 9 mm pistol, Knauss denied that he was a fugitive from justice, according to court documents.But when his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, he was denied the purchase due to his criminal record, documents said.Police on May 14 learned that authorities in Hamilton County, Ohio, were seeking Knauss, who was wanted on a bench warrant. The warrant was issued for a probation violation stemming from a disorderly conduct case in 2009.Police charged Knauss with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Monday — Police charged Mathew J. Walker, 20, of Butler with crawling through an air vent to get into a locked basement at a home in the 600 block of New Castle Road in Franklin Township. Walker is charged with defiant trespass and disorderly conduct.12:23 p.m. Sunday — A minivan driven by Christina M. Ecklund 44, of Pittsford, N.Y., rear-ended a pickup truck on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Joseph Rubcic, 36, of Butler was driving the pickup.Saturday — An unknown thief between 12:01 and 2 a.m. stole a Ryobi tool set and a purse from two cars at a home in the 100 block of Beaver Dam Road in Clay Township.Saturday — A wallet was stolen from a car at a home in the 100 block of Stoney Run Road in Center Township. The theft happened between 4:30 and 7 a.m.11 p.m. June 11 — Two youths are suspected of breaking into a building on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township and stealing a 12-volt power supply and a jump starter. Police did not identify the suspects.
