10:06 a. m. Monday — A car slid off snow- and slush-covered Brown Avenue and into a porch.Rebecca Hunka, 46, of Butler Township told police when her car started to slid she swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle stopped in front of her. She slid onto a sidewalk and hit bushes in front of 431 Brown Ave.Hunka's car then hit bushes and a porch at 429 Brown Ave. Neither Hunka nor a passenger was hurt.Phyliss Rasely owns the home at 429 Brown Ave. Terry Croup of Hinckley, Minn., owns the home at 431 Brown Ave.
2:20 a.m. Sunday — A blue gym bag was found on Artlee Avenue. The owner can claim the property at the police station at 290 S. Duffy Road.6:55 p.m. Saturday — Jessica L. Crawford, 52, of Butler was arrested for felony retail theft after she allegedly shoplifted $28.98 in merchandise from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Crawford has three prior retail theft convictions.0:40 a.m. Saturday — Penelopi Virgo, 39, was arrested after she allegedly hit her boyfriend, 44-year-old Charles Boyle Jr., in the back with a claw hammer during a domestic dispute at their Bessemer Avenue home in Lyndora.Boyle, who suffered only minor injuries, also is accused of shoving Virgo during the altercation.Virgo is charged with simple assault and harassment, and is free on $2,000 unsecured bail. Boyle was cited for harassment.5:04 p.m. Friday — Two Fayette County men are accused of shoplifting hundreds of dollars worth of Lego sets at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons.Edward Wearne, 64, of Hopwood, and David Wearne, 41, of Uniontown, are charged with retail theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property.
Monday — Police reported they arrested three boys in connection with the Nov. 19 break-in of a Riverside Avenue home where a Sony PlayStation 3 video game system and a jar of coins were stolen. The boys, who police did not identify, are charged in juvenile court with burglary, conspiracy and theft.Thursday — Police arrested Ryan D. Shoop, 25, of Grove City on charges stemming from his employment at the Kwik Fill on North Broad Street between May 15 and 24 when he allegedly used customers' credit cards or their account numbers without their permission.Shoop is charged with forgery and 19 counts each of identity theft, access device fraud and theft by deception. He was arraigned on charges and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
9:54 a.m. Friday — Cars driven by Amir M. Rana, 55, of Harmony and Jon L. Steenson, 69, of Hermitage, Mercer County, collided on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Rana, who taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with unknown injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
11:15 a.m. Saturday — Jeremiah J. Polka, 26, and his girlfriend, Alayna M. Lamison, 20, both of Kittanning, are accused of assaulting one another during a domestic dispute on Game Land Road in North Buffalo Township. Both suspects are charged with simple assault.2:30 a.m. Friday — Two cousins were left bruised and bloodied after a domestic dispute at an East Ross Street home in Worthington.Arrested in the altercation were Brandon A. Walker, 20, of Kittanning and Natosha Ann Louise Sellers, 23, of Worthington.Police said Walker suffered a cut above his left eye and on his lip. Among Sellers' injuries was a cut above her right eye, two chipped front teeth, and a swollen and bruised left cheek,Walker and Sellers were arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail; on $2,500 each.Additionally, Walker is charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, underage drinking and criminal mischief. Sellers is charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Nov. 23 — A dirt bike valued at $1,500 was stolen between Nov. 14 and 23 in a burglary at a Brent Road home in Springfield Township. The 1999 Suzuki RM125 bike is yellow with black trim and has “223” on the front and side number plates.
