PA American Water announces service interruptions for Lancaster Township Aug. 13

Pennsylvania American Water announced in a news release Tuesday afternoon about 380 customers in Lancaster Township will experience a temporary water service interruption beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13. Service is expected to be restored by 5 p.m. that day.

The planned outage will allow crews to complete work along Route 19, including installing a new water service connection for a development project and two in-line valves to enhance the reliability, resiliency and flexibility of the water system.

Customers are encouraged to prepare by storing water in advance for essential needs during the interruption.

Once service is restored, customers might experience temporarily cloudy or discolored water. If discoloration occurs, it is recommended to let water run for three to five minutes until water runs clear.
