Butler PoliceTuesday — Police filed a criminal charge against a man badly beaten last week at the Shore Street Apartments. Curtis Goff, 21, of Butler and his girlfriend were attacked Sept. 10 by three men at the Butler County Housing Authority-owned apartment building.Goff and the woman were both treated for injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police later arrested the suspects — Anibal Gonzalez, 38, Steven L. Hasychak, 60, and Bryan R. Sanchez, 19, all of Butler — on felony and misdemeanor assault charges.Investigators subsequently learned that the housing authority, in an Aug. 18 letter, advised Goff that he was not allowed on authority property. Police charged Goff with trespass.
Butler County Sheriff9:20 a.m. Monday — A Washington County woman was caught with suspected drug contraband at the county government center.A sheriff’s deputy manning the security checkpoint X-ray machine detected a marijuana pipe in Susanne R. Peterson’s purse as it passed along the conveyor belt. The glass pipe contained suspected marijuana residue, according to court documents.Peterson, 36, of Joffre is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Monday — Mark D. Kennard, 34, of Clay Township allegedly lied on his gun-permit application. The sheriff’s office, which grants concealed carry licenses, said Kennard denied having been convicted of certain crimes that makes him ineligible for the permit. But a criminal records review found otherwise, according to court documents. Kennard is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.
State Police, ButlerSunday — A vandal broke two windows at a home on Herman Road in Summit Township. The vandalism, which caused about $300 in damage, happened between midnight and 7 a.m.Sunday — Police arrested seven people for driving under the influence during a weekend roving DUI patrol detail in the county. In addition to the DUIs, police arrested one person on drug charges and another for underage drinking.10:59 p.m. Friday — Christ S. Karenbauer, 34, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of DUI after she crashed her vehicle on Route 308 at Windy Point Road in Marion Township.Friday — An unknown burglar used an unlocked door to get inside a Marion Township garage and get away with property valued at $2,800 The break-in at the house in the 600 block of Boyers Road happened between 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Friday. A red Jonsered brand chain saw equipped with a 25-inch bar was stolen from the garage. A white Sirius hand-held radio was taken from an outside work bench. Anyone with information is to call 724-284-8100.Friday — A burglar struck a home on Prospect Road in Connoquenessing Township. The break-in happened between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. A police report did not indicate if anything was taken or if investigators have any suspects.3:32 a.m. Sept. 4 — A burglar left a mess after breaking into a home at the Stonecrest Apartments in Slippery Rock. Once inside the apartment, the suspect, an unknown woman, broke eggs and dumped juice on the kitchen floor. Nothing was reported taken. The odd burglary happened while the tenants — a pair of 20-year-old women — were sleeping.11:38 p.m. Sept. 3 — Shane W. Kirkwood, 19, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Kiester Road near Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township.
State Police, Kittanning1 a.m. Wednesday — Mitchel S. Dongilli, 34, of Kittanning allegedly flipped over a hospital bed and broke a hand sanitizer dispenser at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township. Police said Dongilli faces a charge of criminal mischief.Sunday — A thief stole an East Brady man’s car from the American Legion Parking lot in Bradys Bend Township. The car, which was taken between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., is a black Chevrolet Camaro with the Pennsylvania license plate GDY6857. Anyone with information is to call 724-543-2011
State Police, Mercer4:15 p.m. Sunday — Three unknown shoplifters stole about 10 jackets from the North Face store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township.Sunday — A burglar forced open a door at a home on Centertown Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. A police report did not indicate if anything was taken.
State Police, New Castle11:40 p.m. Sept. 7 — Thomas E. Crawford Jr., 36, of New Castle crashed his pickup into an embankment on Shaffer Road just south of Fairview School Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The truck rolled over and ended on its side. Crawford was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
State Police, PunxsutawneyFriday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Savelli’s Tavern on Huey Road in Toby Township, Clarion County, for failing to maintain required records between 2013 and 2015. An administrative law judge will hear the case.
