10:39 p.m. Tuesday — Candice Nase, 26, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence following a reported hit-and-run crash on Second Street.Police suspect Nase struck a car and drove away. Officers, aided by witnesses, found the suspect a short time later. A breath test showed Nase's blood-alcohol level was 0.279 percent, a police report said, or nearly 3½ times the state's legal limit.In addition to DUI, Nase is charged with accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle and careless driving.
Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a Bulova watch from an Old East Butler Road home in East Butler. The theft occurred between 2:30 and 5 p.m.Tuesday — Police charged Robert V. Glentzer, 31, of Cranberry Township with child endangerment after being stopped for speeding last week in Worth Township in a car where a 6-month-old boy was being bottled fed while on a woman's lap.Troopers clocked Glentzer's 2009 Honda Accord going 82 —or 17 mph over the limit — on Interstate 79, according to court documents. After police stopped the car, they found the baby on the woman's lap and not in a child safety seat.Police noted they saw such a seat in the car. Glentzer told troopers "they were late for a communion and (the) baby was fussing," a police affidavit said. "They did not have time to pull over or stop and feed the baby."Glentzer, in addition to endangering the welfare of a child, is charged with speeding and not securing an infant in a child safety seat.Nov. 12 — Police accused Brian Lee Scott Jr., 23, of Chicora of repeatedly driving past his ex-girlfriend's home in Chicora while riding an all-terrain vehicle, and calling her cell phone hundreds of times between Aug. 13 and Nov. 9. Jennifer McClure said she previously obtained a protection from abuse order against Scott after their relationship ended, according to court documents He is charged with stalking and harassment.Nov. 8 — A black Pontiac Vibe was stolen and a red Plymouth Breeze was damaged at two nearby homes on Terrace Drive in Winfield Township. The theft and vandalism occurred between 8:30 p.m. Nov. 7 and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 8.The Vibe was stolen with the Pennsylvanian license plate EYY1614.
Wednesday — Police warned residents of a recent spike in daylight burglaries throughout Mercer County, particularly in Findley, Jackson, Wolf Creek and Worth townships.The burglars are targeting houses where no one appears to be home. Police said the suspects, who may be in vehicles with Ohio license plates, knock on doors. If someone answers, they give an excuse and quickly leave.If no one answers, they force their way into the home.Police urge anyone who sees suspicious activity in the area to to immediately call their local police or state police at 724-662-6162.Meanwhile, police remind residents to lock all doors and windows when leaving their homes.Tuesday — An unknown burglar stole numerous unspecified items between 10:10 a.m. and noon from a Spring Church Road home in Pine Township.
