Monday — Emily Myers, 25, of Butler, was charged with a misdemeanor for filing a false report to police.According to charging documents, police responded to a one-vehicle accident in which Myers was involved on North Jackson Street. Police said Myers claimed she had been swerving to avoid a pedestrian. Police said video surveillance showed Myers crashing her vehicle with no pedestrian entering her path of travel.Monday — Deniko C. Redd, 29, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance as well as a summary charge of public intoxication.According to charging documents, police were dispatched to a home on North Elm Street for a man reportedly screaming from atop a roof. Police arrived at the scene and found Redd hanging from a porch roof. Police said they helped Redd down from the roof, and they noticed he appeared to be intoxicated.Documents said Redd admitted to police he did not live at the home, and he did not know the people who lived there. Police said they found methamphetamine in Redd's pocket, and he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.
March 19 — Mark A. Degroot, 38, of Sarver, was charged with simple assault. According to charging documents, Degroot and his girlfriend got into an argument because she believed him to be under the influence of drugs.Police say the girlfriend claimed Degroot tried to put the couple's 2-year-old child in a car seat to leave. The documents said a physical assault allegedly occurred when the girlfriend intervened.According to documents, the girlfriend removed the child from the car and called police, at which point Degroot fled from the scene.Police said they saw bruises on the girlfriend's neck and mouth.
Monday — Marian K. Brewer, 74, of Boyers, was charged with a first-offense DUI after a one-vehicle car crash March 19 on Sandy Hill Road.According to charging documents, police arrived at the scene and found a Ford F-150 with two people inside, but Brewer was in the driver seat. Police said they had to assist Brewer out of the truck, and a preliminary breath test indicated she had been drinking.Documents said a blood test conducted later showed Brewer's blood alcohol content was 0.206%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
Monday — Randy J. Schuller, 42, of Butler, was charged with a misdemeanor first-offense DUI stemming from a Feb. 27 traffic stop in Brady Township.According to charging documents, police stopped Schuller for crossing lines on the road. Police said Schuller told them he had been coming from a restaurant and had drunk alcohol earlier.Documents said a field sobriety test indicated Schuller was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content was 0.243%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.Monday — Ralph R. Scott, 47, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.According to charging documents, police stopped Scott in his truck because his license had been suspended. Police said while searching the vehicle they found an amber bottle with 31 pills of Clonazapam inside it.Monday — Daniel E. Link II, 38, of Butler, was charged with felony possession of drugs with the intent to sell stemming from a controlled buy.According to court documents, Link sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant in October.Monday — Nicholas G. Michelangeli, 22, was charged with felony possession of drugs with the intent to sell stemming from a controlled buy.According to court documents, Michelangeli sold lisdexamfetamine and clonazepam to a confidential informant in December of 2019.Monday — Paula I. Lowry, 55, of Sarver, was charged with felony possession of drugs with the intent to sell stemming from a controlled buy.According to court documents, Lowry sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant in November 2019.Monday — Douglas C. Fudoli, 52, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft after allegedly stealing from Boscov's in the Clearview Mall on Feb. 24.According to charging documents, Fudoli had been detained by store employees after they watched him try to leave the store with unpaid items in a plastic bag.Documents said Fudoli told police he was planning to sell the items, valued at about $225, for a cheap price.Monday — Brian M. Smith, 51, of New Castle, was charged with a felony DUI stemming from a Sunday night traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township.According to charging documents, police stopped Smith because they received an earlier report about a drunk man entering a Ford Explorer that matched the description of his vehicle.Police said while speaking with Smith, a record check revealed his license to be DUI-suspended. Documents said Smith showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. Documents said a blood test was later conducted, but the results were not listed in the affidavit.According to police, this would be Smith's seventh DUI and his third in 10 years, if convicted.Monday — Joshua S. Denniston, 20, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 27 traffic stop.According to charging documents, police stopped Denniston because of window tint. The documents said Denniston showed signs of impairment during a series of field sobriety tests, and he was later taken for blood testing, which showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.09% as well as the presence of marijuana in his system.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.Monday — Mia S. Miller, 22, of Harrisville, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a March 14 traffic stop in Brady Township.According to charging documents, Miller showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests, and a later breath test showed she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.207%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.March 19 — David L. Foster, 64, of Slippery Rock, was charged with felony failure to verify address or be photographed.According to charging documents, Foster failed to register for his address verification as a sex offender. During an interview with investigators, Foster claimed he was unable to find a ride, and he did not have a driver's license.Police said Foster has a criminal history of the same offense in Oklahoma, and they found he has lived in Pennsylvania since 2019.
March 19 — David E. Watts, 35, of East Brady, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.According to charging documents, during a traffic stop police recognized the passenger, Watts, as having an active arrest warrant.Police said as Watts was being arrested, he admitted to having drugs and paraphernalia with him. Documents said Watts gave police two used needles, two grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale.
8:02 a.m. March 14 — Police responded to the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Armstrong Road in Perry Township, Lawrence County.Police said at the scene they found a crashed 2013 Dodge Ram Truck crashed into a tree. The driver was Isaac M. Gettleman, 28, of Portersville. Gettleman was listed to have an injury of unknown severity, but he was not taken to the hospital, according to the police report.Police said Gettleman lost control of the vehicle. He was cited for speeding.
