POLICE REPORTS

These items have been collected from various police departments.

Dec. 11 — A 61-year-old Butler man found himself in a scrape with the law after driving his car without first scraping the snow off his windows.Ronald J. Defoggi claimed he didn't see officers Dec. 7 following him for several miles through and out of the city, trying to make a traffic stop. Maybe, police suggested, that was because Defoggi didn't take the time to clear off his windows all the way and didn't have adequate visibility.A patrol officer first spotted the suspect's car — completely snow covered except for the windshield — pass by on West New Castle Street. The officer ran the vehicle's registration and found it was expired. The officer activated his emergency lights and siren in the area of Renaissance Drive, but Defoggi did not stop. He continued south onto Hansen Avenue and south onto Route 8. It wasn't until he got to a red light at Route 8 and Litman that the chase ended.Police charged Defoggi with fleeing or attempting to elude police, a misdemeanor.
