9:50 a.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Betty K. Sheakley, 45, of Butler struck the side of the barrier wall on the General Butler Bridge on Main Street. The crash broke the passenger side tire axle and caused the air bags to deploy. Sheakley was cited for driving with a suspended license.12:31 a.m. Sunday — A Pittsburgh man was allegedly drunk when he crashed his motorcycle at East Jefferson and Monroe streets. Tedd A. Williams, 57, told police that he was traveling downhill on East Jefferson when a vehicle in front of him stopped abruptly, causing him to lay down his Harley-Davidson to avoid a rear-end collision.Williams, who denied being hurt in the wreck, later failed several filed sobriety tests. A subsequent breath test revealed his blood-alcohol level was 0.203 percent, more than double the state's 0.08 percent legal limit for alcohol.He is charged with driving under the influence.
6:10 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Barbara A. Simpson, 52, of Sarver struck a deer head-on on Route 8 just south of Dillon Lane on Clay Township.12:45 a.m. Sunday — Marc Mook, 42, of Saxonburg was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 42-year-old woman, who police did not identify, during a domestic dispute at his home on O'Hara Road in Jefferson Township. Mook was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on domestic violence-related charges.Thursday — A .22-caliber, single-action rifle was reported stolen from a home on North Duffy Road in Center Township. The rifle was taken between 7:40 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.Nov. 10 — A thief stole a brown, Tri-County Industries garbage can from a home in the 200 block of Crestview Road in Slippery Rock Township. The property was taken Nov. 9 or 10.
6:55 a.m. Saturday — James D. Winger, 57, of Grove City was delivering newspapers when a car struck the sport utility vehicle he was driving on Emlenton Street in Clinton Township. John A. Romanko, 60, of Mercer, who was driving the car, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.Winger caused the accident, according to a police report, when he crossed into oncoming traffic at the crest of a hill and into Romanko's lane of traffic. Winger was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
7 p.m. Saturday — An unknown shoplifter stole 10 pairs of jeans in assorted colors from the New York & Co. store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The clothing is valued at a combined $360.2:50 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Gary R. Krenzer, 37, of Slippery Rock and a pickup truck driven by Joshua W. Hill, 31, of Mercer collided at Route 158 and Steingrabe roads in East Lackawannock Township. Krenzer was cited for a stop sign violation.1:35 p.m. Nov. 24 — Snow and ice were blamed for a two-vehicle crash that left two women injured on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. The drivers, Kelsey R. Viertel, 20, of Parker and Kaitlyn D. Beck, 20, of Seneca, were taken to the Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries.Police said Viertel's car skidded into the back of Beck's SUV that was already disabled on the highway. Both women were wearing seat belts.1:22 p.m. Nov. 24 — None of the drivers from four different states was injured in a five-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on I-80 in Wolf Creek Township. The wreck happened when Margaret M. Kang, 31, of Paramus, N.J., lost control of her car on the snow-covered road while braking for traffic slowing for a series of unrelated crashes moments earlier.Kang's car hit a guardrail and spun around back onto the road and into the path of an oncoming car driven by Ronald C. Clark, 66, of Madison, Conn. The cars collided, causing Clark's vehicle to hit an SUV driven by William T. Henderson, 63, of Fort Myers, Fla. That collision forced Clark's car into a spin and sent Henderson's vehicle down an embankment.Clark's car spun into another car driven by Conrad A. Gravel, 57, of Delaware, Ohio, and a minivan driven by Henry H. Hom, 42, of Rahway, N.J.
