4:21 p.m. Monday — Amanda Schmittlein, 30, of Chicora was charged with retail theft and trespass after allegedly stealing $170 worth of groceries from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons.10:47 a.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by Mildred Cehelsky, 91, of Butler and Ralph Hildebrand, 65, of Renfrew collided on Route 68.Sunday — A safe, laptop computer and miscellaneous items were reported taken in a weekend burglary at a home on the 300 block of Whitestown Road.Sunday — Stacey Lecerf, 23, of Butler was charged with trespassing at the Butler Commons Wal-Mart four times in a week. She was charged twice on Oct. 11, once on Friday and once on Sunday. Police report Lecerf was banned from the store on June 9 due to a shoplifting charge.10:35 a.m. Oct. 11 — Diana Welling, 42, of Portersville was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after allegedly stealing a coffee pot and bread maker worth a total of $169.
Friday — Police filed a felony drug charge against a youth, who is accused of providing prescription Adderall pills to another individual on Oct. 4. Police did not identify the 15-year-old suspect, who is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.State Police, ButlerMonday — A silver, 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck was stolen from the Veterans of Foreign Legions post on South Main Street in Chicora. The truck is equipped with a diamond late tool box in the rear.The truck, which contained a pair of .22-caliber handguns — a Harrington and Richardson model and a Ruger Security-Six — and a .223-caliber rifle, was taken between 6 and 7:15 p.m. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Saturday — An unknown thief overnight stole a stainless steel mailbox from a Hunt Road home in Clay Township.Oct. 14 — A mailbox along Bauder Miller Road in Muddy Creek Township was set on fire between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Monday — Several unspecified items were taken in a burglary between 8:50 and 9:45 a.m. from a Brent Road home in Liberty Township.Sept. 10 — Mary Louise Mifsud of Pine Township unknowingly cashed a bogus $2,900 check sent by a prospective tenant. Police said Mifsud then sent $2,000, the amount overpaid for the room, back to the supposed renter via Western Union for $119. After sending the money, according to a police report, Mifsud discovered the deception.
