Butler Police4:43 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Betty Page, 95, of Butler struck another car parked on West Pearl Street. No one was injured, including a Lyndora man who was removing items from the trunk of the car when it was hit. Page told police she could not explain what happened.Friday — Police charged Thomas V. McClain, 55, of Butler in connection with a hit-and-run wreck Dec. 7 on the 200 block of Ridge Avenue.McClain is accused of hitting one parked vehicle, owned by a rental company, before backing up and hitting a second parked vehicle. He took off but the owner of the second vehicle, a Butler Township man, managed to get the suspect’s license plate number.Police found McClain, but not his car, at his home. He admitted to the crash, the report said, and claimed he fled because he did not have insurance on his vehicle. He later led police to Negley Avenue, where he hid his car after the wreck.He is charged with hit-and-run and driving without insurance.2:04 p.m. Dec. 7 — A car driven by Anthony Onufer, 75, of Renfrew and a Peterbilt truck driven by Donald T. Marshall III, 47, of New Castle collided at Hansen Avenue and Red Rose Street.

Butler Twp Police3:04 p.m. Monday — A 16-year-old boy was injured when he accidentally fell down a muddy embankment at Butler Intermediate High School, on the side facing the bowling alley.The assistant principal called 911 to report the student had fallen and “popped his knee,” according to a police report.A Butler Ambulance Service crew was loading the boy onto a stretcher when police got there. The officer assisted with the stretcher.Authorities did not release the name of the boy, who was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. The extent of his leg injury was not known.11:12 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Christine Holman, 66, of Butler backed out of a driveway in front of a truck on East Brady Street. No one was hurt in the collision but the truck, driven by Lewis McGregor Jr., 62, of Parker, had to be towed.Monday — Police are warning about a Facebook scam that recently targeted a township resident.The unknown scammer reportedly hacked into the Facebook account of a friend and tried to con the would-be victim into entering a $150,000 giveaway that is purportedly awarded to a random Facebook profile.The intended target was then asked to click on a few links before being asked to send money. The resident recognized the activity as a scam and did not click on any links or send any money.Police advise residents not to send money to anyone over the Internet or from a telephone call, under the promise of winning a prize of any kind.

Grove City PoliceTuesday — A green, 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport was stolen from the 400 block of McConnell Street. The vehicle was taken between 8:30 a.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is to call 724-458-7925.Tuesday — A thief stole a Garmin global positioning system device from an unlocked vehicle on the 200 block of Valley Street. The theft happened between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
