Richard C. Jamison
Richard C. Jamison, 51, of Butler, formerly of Prospect and raised in West Liberty and Slippery Rock, died Saturday at his home with his wife by his side.
Born in Warwick, R.I., he was the son of Mary Alyce Cumpston and the late Dale Edward Jamison.
He was a Presbyterian.
He was a very good carpenter by trade, but his disability led him to the Photo Center, which he enjoyed for about nine months.
Rick loved to golf, bowl, hunt, play cards on Friday nights with friends, and he was a huge Steelers' fan and also liked Penn State. He just loved to have fun, and he would help anyone if he could. He was just that kind of guy.
He attended Slippery Rock High School, where he met his wife and got his G.E.D. due to his physical handicap.
He married his high school sweetheart June 5, 1976. Surviving are his wife, Susan P. Jamison (Van Scoy), to whom he was married for 32 years; his children, Heather Frazier and son-in-law, Rob, of Prospect and Richard C. Jamison Jr. "C.J." and his girlfriend, Melissa, of Butler. He leaves behind four beautiful grandchildren who he adored very much, Zachary, Alexandrea, Samantha and Emily Frazier and another grandchild due in September. Being a grandfather was one of the best things in his life.
Also surviving are his mother, Mary Alyce Cumpston and his stepdad, Bill Cumpston, of West Liberty; three brothers, Edward, Rob and his wife, Judy, of Karns City and Michael and his girlfriend, Tracy, of Slippery Rock; one sister, Shelly McGinty and her husband, Dave, of Slippery Rock; two half-sisters, Brandy Webb and her boyfriend, Eric, of West Liberty and Macy Skelley and her boyfriend, Bart, of Slippery Rock; a stepbrother, Shawn Cumpston and his wife, Amy, of Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and lots of good friends, especially Rich and Carol Tritch, who are like family; also our friends: Connie King, his nurse friend; and Carol King, his notary friend; their husbands, Lenny and Jeff; and Shaun Fetters, his computer guy, and his wife, Maggie.
