5:30 p.m. Sunday — An unknown man driving an older model, maroon Ford pickup truck struck a car at Center Avenue and South McKean Street, and did not stop. Alison Overly, 19, of Butler, who was driving the car, complained of back pain but refused medical treatment.9:25 a.m. Friday — Kasey R. Dischman, 24, of Evans City was arrested on a warrant after her probation officer and police found her at a North McKean Street apartment.Police said they found a syringe, two spoons with suspected heroin residue and other contraband there.She was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant. Police also charged her with possession of drug paraphernalia.Friday — Police charged Joshua K. Minehart, 34, of Butler with bad checks in connection with a $118.99 check he passed Dec. 1 at the Medicine Shoppe on Pillow Street. The check was written on an account with insufficient funds.Feb. 7 — Two vehicles, one on Olive Street and the other on Miller Avenue, were ransacked overnight. A Motorola portable radio valued at $1,000 was taken from one of the vehicles. The radio was later found that day on North Sixth Avenue.An Apple iPod and other items worth a combined $220 were taken from the other vehicle.
9:40 p.m. Sunday — A thief hot-wired a Polaris all-terrain vehicle and made off with the vehicle that was at a home in the 1000 block of Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township.8:40 a.m. Saturday — A Canadian woman was injured when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle on snow-covered Interstate 79 and spun into a guardrail in Worth Township. Colleen A. Swearingen, 37, of Toronto, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital and released.Swearingen was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and driving without a license.7:05 a.m. Saturday — Clayton J. Shemela, 21, of Butler was hurt when the car he was driving crashed into a guardrail on snow-covered I-79 in Cranberry Township. Shemela, who was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.3:42 a.m. Saturday — An Ohio woman faces several traffic tickets after the car she was driving hit a landscaping rock on Harmony Road near Stadium Drive in Slippery Rock Township. Natalie H. Atkinson, 20, of Solon, the driver, fled after the crash.Atkinson was cited for driving too fast for conditions, a lane violation, illegally abandoning a vehicle, failing to stop and give information after an accident and minors prohibited from driving with alcohol in their system.Friday — A burglar caused about $2,300 in damage while breaking into Family Traditions restaurant on South Main Street in Harrisville. Nothing was taken in the break-in that happened between 9:35 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday. Damaged in the crime was a reinforced steel door and a window.Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Wednesday — Two window air conditioners were stolen from a Route 19 home in Muddy Creek Township. The air conditioners, which were stored outside by the driveway, were taken between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 4 p.m. Wednesday.8:47 p.m. Tuesday — Randy T. Boone, 29, of New Castle was hurt when a SUV rear-ended the car he was driving on Route 8013 in Muddy Creek Township. Boone was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Darcy D. Rees, 36, of Erie was driving the SUV.8:50 p.m. Feb. 4 — James Chambers, 27, of Greenville, Mercer County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 422 and Dick Road in Franklin Township.Feb. 3 — A purse was stolen from a minivan at a Thompson Town Road home in Clay Township. The theft happened Feb. 2 or 3. The purse and its contents are valued at $655.
2:15 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Amy R. Franklin, 35, of Emlenton and a sport utility vehicle driven by Darcy R. Henderson, 38, of Franklin collided at Route 257 and Hoss Drive in Cranberry Township, Venango County. Franklin was cited for a red light violation.
4:15 a.m. Sunday — Richard A. Ilgenfritz, 23, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 at exit 18 in South Buffalo Township.2:10 p.m. Saturday — Jessica R. McDowell, 24, of Adrian was hurt when the SUV she was driving crashed into a hillside after sliding off snow- and ice-covered Beagle Club Road at Hulings Run Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County.McDowell, who was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with moderate injuries, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.2:22 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Jay M. Hoshak, 42, of Lyndora struck a concrete barrier on the Route 422 off-ramp in Manor Township. Hoshak was cited for a lane violation.
5:04 p.m. Saturday — Angela N. Falkner, 36, of Warren, Mich., was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $157 in merchandise from the Old Navy store at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. Falkner was placed in the Mercer County Jail on a charge of retail theft.11 a.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Norman F. Marek Jr., 46, of Indiana, Pa., and Timothy W. Swanson, 24, of Grove City collided at Route 208 and Blacktown Road in Pine Township.12:10 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Stephanie G. Wright, 26, of Columbus, Ohio, crashed and rolled over, landing on its wheels, on snow-and ice-covered Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.Wright, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Thursday — A thief stole a Grove City man's wallet from the Grove City YMCA locker room on East Main Street in Pine Township. It was taken between 5:45 and 7:25 p.m.Feb. 4 — Charles F. Simon, 21, of Grove City was arrested after he was caught at the Wal-Mart in Pine Township allegedly returning stolen computer games for a store refund. He was arraigned on a charge of receiving stolen property, and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $5,000 bail.1 a.m. Jan. 29 — Andrew Beardsley, no age given, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 173 near Airport Road in Pine Township.2:40 a.m. Jan. 28 — Chad Snow, no age given, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Interstate 80 in Lackawannock Township.
Noon Saturday — A Grove City man and child were hurt in a one-vehicle accident on Route 19 near Shaw Road in Washington Township, Lawrence County. The accident happened when a large snow drift forced a sport utility vehicle driven by Jonathan M. Homer, 30, of Grove City off the road and into a mailbox support post.Homer and two passengers, a 1-year-old Grove City boy and a 24-year-old Meadville, Crawford County woman, were taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Homer and Jones were wearing seat belts and the boy was in a child safety seat.
