5:28 p.m., Tuesday — Jarrod Bair, 24, of Butler, has been cited for not stopping at a stop sign at the intersection of Morton and Brown avenues. Bair's vehicle collided with a car driven by John Black, 74, of Butler. Black and a passenger were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.7:16 a.m., Monday — A vehicle driven by Brianna Harvey, 17, was hit by a Valley Lines School Bus on Sawmill Run Road when Harvey backed out of a driveway in front of the bus. No students were on the bus and bus driver Kathleen Kimel, 71, was not injured.Aug. 24 — Someone took a trail camera owned by Erik Martin of Evans City. The camera was mounted in a tree.Aug. 24 — Kenneth Smith of Chicora reported someone opened a credit card account using his name.Aug. 16 and 17 — Jacob B. Smith, 24, of Butler has been charged with stealing more than $1,014 of merchandise from the Butler Commons Walmart, including a sweeper, Nicorette gum and a car stereo system. The thefts occurred over a two-day period.
8 a.m. Aug. 21 — James Nelson of 400 Old Route 68 in Forward Township reported someone took several golf clubs and a golf bag from his garage.11 a.m. May 11 — Robert McLaughlin, 19, of Prospect, has been charged with stealing a car owned by Dominic Neely of Prospect from the Slippery Rock High School parking lot. McLaughlin is also charged with taking money from Neely's bank account.
5:38 p.m. Saturday — Jessica Baca of Saxonburg was stopped for speeding on Route 28 near the Freeport exit. Police found out during the stop there was a warrant for her arrest issued by the state police in Greensburg. She also was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and crack cocaine and was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance.Her passenger, Megan Donnelly of Sarver, was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected crack cocaine. Both women are facing various charges from the state police.Nov 26, 2008 to March 6 — Police are investigating a forgery in which someone took withdrawal slips from the Sons of the American Legion in East Brady, signed the legion president's name and in three separate withdraws took $3,700 from the Farmer's National Bank in Emlenton. The bank has reimbursed the legion's money, and both organizations are considered victims of the crime.
