Butler Twp Police8:24 p.m. Friday — Charles Allen, 46, of Lyndora was arrested after he was found allegedly intoxicated and stumbling down Hansen Avenue near Whitestown Road. Police cited Allen for public drunkenness and pedestrians under the influence.3:12 p.m. Thursday — Several people were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after a five-vehicle wreck at North Main Street and Evans Road. According to a police report, Jonathan Krelko, 30, of Butler ran a red light and hit four vehicles driven by William Moore, 57, of Butler; Donald Houck, 62, of Indiana, Pa.; Richard Christie, 70, of Cabot; and Laura Brothers, 68, of Chicora.The Mercer Road Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service assisted police at the scene. Several drivers and passengers suffered minor injuries.Police cited Krelko for reckless driving, failing to stop at a red light and not wearing a seat belt.
Grove City Police3:15 a.m. Saturday — Karl E. Williams, 53, of Harrisville was arrested and charged with driving a vehicle not equipped with a court-ordered interlock ignition system. Police noted that Williams was caught at a sobriety checkpoint.
State Police, Butler12:30 a.m. Sunday — An unknown vandal fired a 12-gauge shotgun that damaged a mailbox on the northern side of Timblin Road near Route 138 in Clay Township. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-284-8100.1:38 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by John J. Kish, 31, of Mercer and William T. Kosior, 53, of Wampum, Lawrence County, collided at Franklin and Branchton roads in Slippery Rock Township. Police cited Kish for a stop sign violation.
State Police, Franklin3:36 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a one-vehicle crash in Clinton Township, Venango County. The wreck happened when Nicholas S. Cindrich, 73, of Pittsburgh lost control of his pickup truck on Kennerdell Road.The truck hit an embankment and spun around on the side of the road. The truck’s passenger, Carol J. Cindrich, 72, of Pittsburgh, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Northwest in Seneca with moderate injuries.
State Police, KittanningMonday — Justin Allen Brumbaugh, 22, of Kittanning was arraigned on charges he stole five vehicles from the Templeton and Kittanning areas since Aug. 1.Police believe all the vehicles that Brumbaugh took had the keys left in them. The state police Auto Theft Task Force assisted by Kittanning police eventually identified Brumbaugh as the suspect.On Thursday, according to a police report, police found him sitting in one of the stolen vehicles in Kittanning. Brumbaugh was interviewed and allegedly admitted stealing all the vehicles.The defendant was arraigned on five felony counts each of theft of a vehicle and receiving stolen property, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Armstrong County Jail on $35,000 bail.
State Police, New CastleSept. 30 — An unknown thief stole copper cable from a shed belonging to the Pennsylvania Game Commission on Game Farm Road in Scott Township. The suspect got into the shed after cutting a fence that surrounds it. The 8-foot copper cable was stolen between May 1 and Sept. 3.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.
