Butler Police2:10 a.m. Wednesday — Brian P. ODonnell, 31, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his wife, Laura Jo O'Donnell, during a domestic dispute at an apartment on Walker Avenue. He is accused of grabbing the woman by the neck and hitting her in the face.O'Donnell was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Tuesday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Delmar E. Silk, 56, of Butler on charges he broke into his ex-girlfriend's East Cunningham Street apartment and attacked her last month.Shortly before 2 a.m. Aug. 26, Silk allegedly entered Loriann McKinney's apartment without her permission. He grabbed her hair and arm and struck her, according to court documents. At one point, McKinney told police, the defendant threw her against the kitchen wall.When officers got there, Silk was gone. McKinney had a bleeding wound to the back right side of her head. She was later taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.Silk is charged with burglary and simple assault.
Butler Twp Police3:52 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Susan L. Brewer, 28, of West Sunbury rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light on New Castle Road near VA Butler Healthcare. The collision forced the other vehicle, driven by a boy who police did not identify, into the back of pickup truck driven by Ronald Weinzierl, 37, of Butler.Police cited Brewer for careless driving.
State Police, Franklin4:57 p.m. Wednesday — A 24-year-old Polk man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 in Barkeyville.Tuesday — A pickup truck loaded with tools to lay pipeline was stolen from the 4000 block of Route 308 in Clinton Township, Venango County. The truck, valued at nearly $30,000, is described as a red 2009 Ford-350 with a black flatbed.The bed contained about $3,600 worth of pipelining tools. A police report noted the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were left on the dashboard.The theft happened between 5:35 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Police said they have no suspects.Saturday — An unknown thief overnight stole a red Honda 2000i portable generator from the Armstrong Cable office on Route 208 in Irwin Township. The generator is valued at $900.
State Police, Kittanning9:30 p.m. Monday — Michael J. Ridinger, 36, and Keli E. Ridinger, 24, both of Adrian, were arrested after an altercation on Brush Valley Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County. Each suspect was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in Armstrong County Jail on $1,500 bail.Monday — An unknown thief between 8:45 and 11:30 p.m. stole an unspecified amount of currency from a 48-year-old woman's home on Rohrbach Road in Bradys Bend Township.9:15 a.m. Saturday — Sport utility vehicles driven by a 17-year-old boy and Justin D. Shaffer, 24, both of Kittanning, collided at Route 422 and Claypoole Road in West Franklin Township. Police said the boy, who they did not identify, was cited for running a red light.
State Police, Mercer5:10 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Lisa M. Ceaser, 56, of Butler was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 80 in Lackawannock Township. The suspect car is described as a gray BMW 528i with a New York license plate.
State Police, New Castle8:10 p.m. Monday — Three people were hurt, two seriously, in a one-car wreck in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The crash happened when Brian J. Hudak II, 22, of New Castle lost control of his speeding car after cresting a hill and traveled off Shaffer Road.The vehicle struck an embankment and flipped before hitting trees. The Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department was called to assist.Justin C. Ferrante, 22, of West Pittsburg and Kara L. Emerson, 18, of Slippery Rock, two passengers in the car, were both taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with “major injuries.” Hudak suffered a minor injury.None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt. Police said Hudak was cited for careless driving.
